Role summary:

To deliver customers' products to the required premises ensuring all customers receive exceptional customer service as part of a multi-drop delivery route. The driver will ensure that all products are transported safely to the customers' premises, treating their freight as if it were their own.



Key responsibilities

-Represent DX in a professional manner at all times

-Drive vehicles in a safe and legal manner ensuring compliance with all legal and company requirements at all times

-All daily checks are undertaken ensuring defects are immediately reported and correct paperwork completed

-Ensure all product are scanned using DX scanning equipment

-Ensure all deliveries are loaded safely prior to leaving the depot

-Observe DX procedures and policies at all times

-Manage your routing to ensure premium and timed deliveries are achieved

-Ensure the correct equipment and PPE, (personal protective equipment) is in good order and used at all times

-Ensure all delivery and on road issues are reported to the traffic office immediately

-Ensure the customer receives their deliveries in excellent condition every time

-Deal with any customer issues in a polite and effective manner

-Ensure collections are made in line with given instructions and times

-Must hold C1 or above on licence with valid DQC and Tacho card

We’re recruiting an IMI Level 3 qualified mechanic at Leeds Workshop on a Permanent contract, with the potential to earn up to £55k including overtime.

Working Hours: Full time
- 39.5 hours per week. Working 5 days over 7 (rotating shift pattern; Week 1 – Tuesday to Saturday. 07:00 – 15:24 (Saturday hours 06:00 – 14:24) Week 2
- Sunday 06:00
- 13:36 and Monday
- Thursday 13:36
- 22:00 and Week 3 – Monday to Friday. 07:00 – 15:24.
You will be required to work 1 in 3 Saturday and Sunday (with weekday days off)

A bit about the role

With a Fleet of over 49,000 vehicles, including traditional fuel and electric vehicles, LCVs and HGVs, maintaining our vehicles is a true team effort. A bit about you

- Qualified mechanic: you’re fully qualified to an advanced level (IMI Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent). You’ve got your own toolkit for standard repairs.
- Varied vehicle experience: Proven Vehicle Technician experience working on a wide range of vehicles, for example LCV / HGV.
- Valid UK driving licence: You hold a full manual UK driving licence, preferably an HGV licence with trailer experience.
- High working standards: you take pride in your work and do what is necessary to make sure the job is done effectively.
- Flexible to service demands: you’re able to work on a flexible shift rota. You’re always willing to support your team where necessary.
