Your new role
Supply teachers play a crucial role in supporting schools during critical periods by offering specialised subject cover or general teaching assistance when regular staff members are absent. The duration of these roles may vary, and many temporary positions serve as potential pathways to more permanent teaching opportunities. As a Hays Supply Teacher, you can pick and choose your days and decline a job which isn't right for you. You can choose to work for us full-time, part-time or flexibly.

We work with schools in Dartford, Gravesend, Medway, Maidstone, Tunbridge wells, Sevenoaks, Sittingbourne, Canterbury, Thanet, Deal, Dover, Folkestone and Ashford, so wherever you live, we have job roles available for you. It is commonplace for long-term supply roles to result in permanent job offers, making supply a brilliant way of showcasing your talent to local schools.

What you'll need to succeed

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualifications (PGCE, QTS, QTLS)
• A minimum of 2 months' UK teaching experience in the past 4 years (this can include university placements).
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Adherence to professional standards and commitment to student development.
• You must have the right to work in the UK.

Hays Education are currently recruiting EYFS, KS1 & KS2 Teachers to work at schools in the Swale and surrounding areas on a supply basis.


Supply teaching offers a flexible working environment with the option to work on either a day-to-day supply or long-term basis, some of which can lead to a permanent job.


Hays are currently seeking teachers that hold QTS. You may be experienced or Newly qualified looking to gain experience. You will be working in a number of different schools and must be able to provide them with an outstanding service which is important to the overall running of the schools, their teaching and learning standards.


As a supply teacher, you will be working through Hays Education, who will provide you with a variety of supply primary teacher jobs in Swale and the surrounding areas. The variety of jobs we offer range from long-term to short-term positions and can be for as many days a week as you require.


As a supply teacher, you will be working with a variety a primary schools across Swale. The primary teacher roles we offer will require you to have previous, recent experience within a primary school and require you to be comfortable teaching in new classrooms on a regular basis. We can offer you day-to-day positions which are more short-term contracts or long-term positions which can last more than 4 weeks.
