They are presently looking to recruit, on a permanent basis, a Senior Engineer / Sub Agent to work on projects in their Southeastern Region which broadly covers Kent and East Sussex.

The successful candidate will have experience of delivering civil engineering projects.

The nature of the work that this contractor varies but their core sectors include;

• Section 278 Development Infrastructure

• Coastal & Marine

Sub Agent duties include assisting the Site Agent with the successful and timely delivery of the projects:

• Advising the engineering team with solutions to technical challenges
• Assist in production and integration of 3-week programmes
• Manage designs from the inhouse and external designers
• Support the project team with construction methodology and sequencing
• Collaborate with the project team on resource, plant and material requirements
• Training and mentoring the junior members of the engineering team
• Demonstrate value engineering throughout the construction process
• Managing RFI's and Technical Queries

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their new commercial team on an exciting new project. You will be play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional commercial outcomes and supporting the Managing Surveyor in leading the team.

The responsibilities of a Senior Quantity Surveyor

• Contribute to the development and implementation of commercial strategies.
• Manage specific aspects of the project's commercial activities like managing contracts with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ensure accurate cost control and financial reporting by monitoring project costs and preparing financial reports, and identifying potential cost overruns.
• Mentor and support Assistant Quantity Surveyors.

Requirements for Senior Quantity Surveyor

• 10 years experience within Quantity Surveying position with a main contractor.
• Experience working on 2-stage projects would be advantageous.
• You will need to have comprehensive technical civil engineering knowledge.
• Extensive knowledge of best industry practices and standards.
• Excellent research, proposal writing and oral presentation skills.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management or comparable qualification.
• Mentoring and training of Assistant Quantity Surveyors and Quantity Surveyors.

The project is currently at the piling stages and we need someone to assist with the steel frame. This project will last for 10 months and the idea is that the Senior Engineer will move over to another project after the unit.
