We are currently supporting a Middlesbrough school who are looking for an Educational Psychologist to join them.This school prides themselves on learning and wellbeing, which is at the centre of everything that they do. They work with the most vulnerable children, who have a complex range of physical and/or mental health difficulties, helping them to re-set their learning journey to achieve better outcomes and to improve their life chances in the short and longer term.
Job Description:
To promote the achievement and wellbeing of children and young people, especially those with Special Educational Needs and/or other barriers to their learning and development. Under the direction of the Head of School they will deliver a full range of generic psychological services covering consultation, assessment, intervention, research and training functions to support the development of pupil attainment and wellbeing. They will offer parents/carers support and guidance in understanding and meeting the needs of their children/young people to promote their achievement and wellbeing.
- Conducting psychological assessments and evaluations.
- Developing and implementing individualised education plans (IEPs).
- Providing counselling and support to students, parents, and staff and building relationships
- Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to create supportive learning environments.
- Delivering training and workshops on mental health and educational strategies.
- Keeping up to date with the latest research and best practices in educational psychology.
- Work within a leadership team across the MAT
- Support the Head and Deputy Head of School to establish an outstanding school and drive continuous improvement
Requirements:
- A recognised qualification in Psychology
- Successful completion of a recognised post-graduate training course in Educational Psychology
- Experience of carrying out psychological assessments and interventions in a variety of educational settings
- Experience of attendance at multi-agency meetings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to promoting inclusion and diversity.
