Hays are delighted to be partnering with a Multi Academy Trust based in the Merseyside region.
This growing group of academies has a strong leadership team and ambitions to continue growing in the future. At a fairly early stage of their Academy journey, they are looking for a talented Chief Finance Officer (CFO) to join the leadership team.
Your new role
This is an inspirational leadership role that will have a direct impact on the success of children education and the wider local community.
As CFO you will provide strategic guidance, leadership and management of the Trust's finances and outsourced operations.
You will lead the finance team and support operational leaders with insightful analysis and support with decision making.
You'll ensure that Risk Management, Audit, Governance and compliance duties are completed as required by Trust or Statutory regulations.
You'll ensure all Financial Management and Reporting is completed to a high standard and to deadlines.
You'll embrace the use of IT and systems to deliver efficiencies and a more effective service.
You will also have responsibility for all external returns, funding applications and monitoring.
What you'll need to succeed
We are looking for a talented qualified accountant / level 7 qualified accountant who has the passion to work in the education sector.
You should have familiarity with a funded environment, whether that be in education, charity, housing, or other commercial body.
We would also actively encourage applications from senior finance staff in practice who have exposure to charity or academy trusts.
You should be prepared to be hands on and to have a varied role that could involve responsibilities outside of finance with the aim of improving the performance of the trust.
Familiarity with a Trustee environment would be advantageous.
What you'll get in return
This role offers a generous salary of between £64000 to £69000 plus an exceptional local government pension. A fantastic holiday provision of 30 days plus bank holidays plus 2 further statutory days holiday means that this is an excellent package. Hybrid working is available.
