Your new company

Hays have been approached by a number of secondary schools in the Lancaster area that we have worked with for a number of years, who are seeking to appoint Teaching Assistants on a full-time basis. There has been a huge increase in demand, and we are now looking for individuals who hold Level 2 and Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualifications to work 5 days a week and provide consistent support for pupils who need the extra help.

Your new role

As a teaching assistant, you are responsible for providing support and assistance to the pupils. This could either be working as a general classroom support or working on a 1:1 basis with pupils across KS3 and KS4. By being a teaching assistant, you should possess good behaviour management skills and hit the ground running by building up those relationships with pupils as well as staff. There is currently a high demand for teaching assistants in the Lancaster area, so please get in touch if you would like to know more or discuss the roles available.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be successful in securing this position, you must have recent experience working with children. The school are also willing to consider individuals from other roles working with young adults, for example, support worker roles. As the schools are recruiting immediately, it would be ideal if you could jump straight into the role. However, do not let this put you off applying, as we are always receiving new roles. SEN experience would also be desirable in this role, but the school are looking for someone to come in with an open mind and commit to the role.

A national repairs and maintenance contractor working in the West Yorkshire area is looking for an Electrical Qualifying Supervisor to oversee the electrical side of day to day social housing repairs and maintenance.
Your new role
As Electrical Qualifying Supervisor, you will lead a team of electricians, dealing with any queries relating to electrical installation and testing.Ensuring your team are clear of their roles and responsibilities, you will assess resource requirements and support the management of day-to-day activities. Identifying risks and protecting the business's reputation, you will manage team performance, undertake quality assurance and drive a culture of right first time.

What you'll need to succeed
We're looking for an individual who has good communication skills, able to confidently communicate both verbally and in writing. You'll be educated to NVQ Level 3 and hold City & Guilds 2382 18th Edition, City & Guilds 2330 (or equivalent) for Electrical Installations and City & Guilds 2391 Initial Verification, Testing & Inspection.
You must hold a valid full or automatic UK driving licence held for a minimum of 12 months as a company vehicle will be provided (work use only).The role would suit a current supervisor looking for a new challenge or, equally, someone looking to take a step into management with relevant qualifications.
