Roles & Responsibilities
1. Ensure that the laboratory operate according to the requirement of ISO17025.
2. Responsible for the overall quality control and calibration of all laboratory equipments.
3. Identify and resolve any service quality problems.
4. Responsible for the day to day running of the laboratory, ensuring efficient and appropriate use of resources/facilities to meet operational requirement and deliver valued services.
5. Manage two shift teams and work cohesively with team leaders to meet business objectives.
6. Ensure effective communication with team members to achieve appropriate levels of understanding and commitment to business objectives.
7. Drive performance management for laboratory staff, supported by adherence to the Company’s Performance Management framework, by appraising, coaching, and developing direct reports, ensuring each individual has a set of objectives and is given an annual performance appraisal.
8. Liaise with regulatory agencies (e.g. SPF, NEA & MOM) for licensing / permit applications and renewals.
9. Assist Management in resource planning for the laboratory.
10. Ensure that the laboratory operate within budgetary control and implement cost saving initiative.
11. Monitor process deviations and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
12. Vendor/ supplier qualification and procurement of critical material and services
Requirements:
• Minimum Qualification: Degree in Chemistry (or relevant field) or have attained a similar level of knowledge by virtue of experience in relevant field of Chemistry.
• 2 years of experience in laboratory management /team leader or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of SAC-SINGLAS and ISO/IEC 17025 standards
• Experience in regulatory and accreditation audits will be a strong advantage.
• Experience in fuel testing lab preferred.
• Must be able to work cohesively with fellow departments to attain common goals.
• Has the ability to lead, align and motivate staff.
• Effective in people and team management.
• Must be resilient and able to handle tight timelines.
