- Plans, develops, and implements a clinical based program designed to provide high quality, safe care under the Army Patient Safety Program (APSP).
- Prepares and reviews aggregate data, performs trend analyses, and identifies and makes recommendations for improvement.
- Provides expertise and guidance to staff members in the areas of patient safety reporting, prospective risk analysis, aggregate analysis, root cause analysis, and development and evaluation of action plans.
- Oversees the education of the beneficiary population regarding its role in identification of patient safety related issues.
- Establishes administrative controls aimed at ensuring approved recommendations from completed aggregate analysis and root cause analysis (RCA) are implemented as proposed.
- Performs staff support work in short and long-range planning efforts.
- Incumbent provides technical expertise in the field of planning patient safety initiatives and implementation processes as well as comprehensive advice and assistance to senior leaders.
- Provides support to staff that ensures effective management of the facility's patient safety program.
