Role

• Lead the design and development of high-density residential projects, hotels, student accommodations, and other mixed-use developments.
• Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to translate conceptual ideas into feasible architectural solutions.
• Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from initial concept design through to construction documentation and project delivery.
• Mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth.
• Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in architectural design, with a focus on high-density developments, hotels, or similar projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and other relevant design software.
• Strong conceptual and design skills, with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and construction practices.
• A right to work in the UK is required for this role.

They have a very healthy pipeline of work and due to continuous growth are seeking a Senior or Associate level Electrical Design Engineer (Building Services) to join their Glasgow or Edinburgh office. This company are involved in multiple sectors of work; you will get access to challenging and interesting projects varying in size and scale across Commercial, High-Scale Residential developments, Retail, Industrial and lots of survey work.

Role

• Ensuring an understanding of project briefs. .
• Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems - power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, lightning protection etc.
• Carry out (and managing of others), in the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including Excel, dialux, Amtech, in-house developed tools, etc.
• Preparing technical specifications using NBS
• Representing the organisation at meetings with clients and contractors.
• Site surveys, inspections and monitoring of site works.
• Report and technical note writing.
• Maintaining complete records and archives to company standards.
• Adherence to all quality, environmental and governance processes

Qualifications / Experience

• Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification, in Building Services Engineering / Electrical Engineering or related subjects.
• Chartered Engineer with CIBSE or IET.
• Proficient in energy reduction methods and approaches to decarbonising new and existing buildings.
• Familiarity with the principles of building physics such as passive design solutions and fabric first approaches.
• Good level of computer literacy in a range of digital tools such as Excel, Amtech, Dialux, Relux, Revit is beneficial
• Experience working in a design consultancy and/or experience of working within a contractor design environment is essential.
• Have a detailed knowledge of appropriate technical standards.
