The main duties of the role are: Phlebotomy Undertake new patient health checks Support the Practice Nursing team with health promotion programmes. Carry out baseline observations, such as pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, BMI and record finding accurately. Facilitate routine and 24 hour BP monitoring, advising patients accordingly Support the Practice Nurse team with the management of chronic disease clinics. Act as chaperone as required. Ensure specimens are recorded and ready for onward transportation. Ensure all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session. Ensure clinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharp bins replaced in accordance with Practice policy. Achieve and maintain high standards of cleanliness in at all times, in line with NHS National Standards of Cleanliness and Infection Control policy: Use of all cleaning equipment and materials appropriately and effectively to provide a clean and safe environment Cleaning of all areas within the unit both on the wards and the off ward areas as defined in the cleaning schedules Daily inspection of electrical cleaning equipment prior to use and the reporting of any faults as appropriate Disposal of all waste in accordance with trust policies Damp dusting of all fixtures and fitting/internal glass Ensure all soft furnishings, curtains and soft flooring are cleaned and maintained as required Changing curtains when required and re-hang as necessary Any other duties as related to housekeeping within the unit. Prepare and regenerate meals for patients. Maintain all food safety records in line with Food Safety Manual, Catering Policy, and all food safety legislation. Ensure patient area is readied for meal service, and clear related crockery/cutlery etc after meal service, ensuring these are washed appropriately. Maintain stocks of cleaning materials on wards and admin areas. Report any issues/damage to the environment/furniture etc to the Housekeeping Supervisor/Ward Manager. Ensure all stocks of linen are maintained and laundered in line with appropriate policies. Comply with and carry out safe practice in accordance with Trust policies and procedures, appropriate Codes of Conduct, the Mental Health Act (1983)

* To work as an integrated member of a Therapy Team delivering person centred care with particular focus on clinical and rehabilitation interventions, enabling individuals to achieve their optimum physical, psychological, social and emotional wellbeing * To independently assess patients referred into the service / speciality to determine clinical diagnosis and treatment indicated and maintain records as an autonomous registered therapist within a variety of clinical settings * To manage a clinical caseload to a high professional standard and seek guidance from senior colleagues when necessary * To provide patients and their carers with a therapy plan that promotes the development needed to acquire the physical skills to live as independent a life as possible and reach their maximum potential * To work as an autonomous registered therapist and be responsible for the Occupational Therapy management of patients referred into the service. * Ensure that patients are seen within agreed waiting times. * To work towards and achieve role specific competencies. * To work as part of the multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team and in partnership with other services and agencies including Social Services and to ensure that occupational therapy is fully integrated into the patients care. To coordinate team multi-disciplinary meetings. * To communicate effectively with other health professional and outside agencies where appropriate. * To participate in clinical supervision and training. * To contribute to the service targets and key performance indicators to reduce length of stay, monitor and assist with patient flow across therapy pathways, preventing unnecessary hospital admissions and effective discharge process by providing timely community based rehabilitation and community care. * To maintain high quality standards in all aspects of care delivery, working in partnership with primary care colleagues, other health professionals, patients, carers, statutory, independent and voluntary organisations. * To provide training and leadership to student physiotherapists, junior therapists, therapy support staff, peers and other health and social care colleagues. * Participate in service development activities including audit and research
