A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior / Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Tier 1 organisation in East Anglia. As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the Commercial team on a variety of projects from Education to Commercial, Healthcare, Leisure and public sector.

Your day to day will look like:

• Exposure to the full project lifecycle with involvement across pre-construction through to project delivery
• Working alongside the project delivery team, to ensure the contractual control and cost management of projects across different sectors
• Managing the commercial aspects of subcontract accounts from procurement to interim and final account agreement
• Being involved with the final account negotiation to ensure the best possible outcome

To be considered for the role, they would like:

• HNC / HND in Surveying or equivalent
• Proven experience as the SQS / Commercial lead working with a regional / national contractor
• A good understanding of building regulations and legal obligations
• A good knowledge of construction methods and materials

The role is based in Oxfordshire, and is seeking a Senior Engineer to directly report into the Project Manager, responsible for more junior members of staff and driving the project forward. I am recruiting for a specialist bespoke, high end residential contractor who have a major new development near Andover and are looking for a Senior Quantity surveyor to join their team.

The company are a recognised brand in their chosen marketplace and have built some of the largest high spec dwellings for high net worth individuals across the South and have proven and developed procedures, supply chain and their own internal joinery workshops and fitters.

Your duties will be to work with the estimating and bid teams to firm up prices and costs for each package based on the initial bids, compile a working scope of works and bill of quantities for each package and work with the supply chain to establish how each phase will be delivered. Place orders, arrange pre start meetings and then manage the scheme in conjunction with the delivery team and carry out the standard SQS role of overseeing and managing valuations, payments, remeasures, managing variation accounts, CVR's and weekly, monthly reporting and forecasting through to final account.

The initial scheme is a part new build and part refurb of an existing standalone country dwelling with new extensions, refurbishments, upgrades and substantial groundworks and engineering packages on a JCT foc approx £65 million.
