My client is currently looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor in the Normanton area

This is to work on a water project worth £14 million

Full time role reporting directly to the senior commercial manager for a minimum of 6 months to start as soon as possible

£450 per day outside IR35

In this role you will be working closely with the commercial team and Project leads, it will be down to you to ensure the correct project controls are in place across all disciplines and reporting regularly to the Commercial Manager.

You will also have the opportunity to actively participate in pre-construction and tendering activities by reviewing prices and protecting the business by identifying onerous terms in contracts.

Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for overseeing material and subcontract procurement and ensuring the correct governance is applied and ensuring that monthly CVR's and commercial reports are accurately reported to the required deadlines.

Must have;

• Experience of working on large single or multiple smaller schemes with solid knowledge of construction processes.
• A professional qualification such as MCIOB or MRICS
• Strong working knowledge of standard forms of contract, in particular the NEC3/4 suite of Contract

Job Title: Fire & Security Engineer

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• To carry out PPM in accordance with set schedules, ensuring engineering standards are maintained in order to maximise the operational effectiveness and reliability of the Fire & Security Systems.

• Adherence to set engineering standards in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) requirements.

• To ensure onsite Quality Assurance procedures are adhered to in all respects and to maintain accurate records/documentation associated with the Fire & Security Systems.

• To respond in a prompt and effective manner to all relevant reactive maintenance issues, and help desk requests.

• To co-ordinate initial actions associated with all requests from the client.
• To co-ordinate visiting specialist sub contractors associated with Fire & Security Systems aspects of the PPM schedules.

• To respond to call outs and cover breakdowns and emergencies associated with the contract as required.

• Fault diagnosis associated with the PPM or Reactive maintenance of the site.
• Assist other trades as necessary.
• Manage workload and prioritise jobs appropriately
• To provide reports in relation to work and equipment as required.
• To undertake miscellaneous duties as requested by the Client.
• To proactively work towards the growth of the contract into other service provisions be they System Upgrades, Like for Like replacements, Project works, etc

The knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience relevant to the position are:

Essential

• Fire & Security Apprenticeship (or recognised equivalent)
• Health and Safety Training
• GCSE (or 'O' Level equivalent) passes in Maths and English or recognised equivalent
• Industry experience with similar maintenance duties including fault diagnosis, rectification and preventative tasks

• The candidate must be fully experienced in fire alarms and have the certification to evidence this

• Must have experience in IP and analogue CCTV
• Must be IPAF trained and have a valid Chapter 8 ECS card

Desirable

• City & Guilds Part 3 (Electrical Installation 2360) or recognised equivalent
• Experience in IT & Networking
• Supervisory experience for future development

Senior Temporary Works Design Engineer Required

• Do you have 10+ years of experience as a Civil Structural Design Engineer?
• Are you Chartered? Or near Chartered
• Have you gained experience working with Temporary Works / Construction Engineering Experience ?

My client are delighted to be growing their Engineering Services team with the addition of an experienced Senior Design Engineer where you will be joining a dynamic, collaborative IN-HOUSE team and working on exciting projects across a variety of sectors including but not limited to civil engineering, construction, commercial, marine & rail.


You will be:

• Responsible for the preparation and review of detailed technical designs for temporary works (including calculations, drawings, risk assessments and design certificates)
• Proposing and/or developing value engineered alternative solutions (during tender or construction phases)
• Support Construction Team with Temporary Works Solutions.
• Liaising with Temporary Works Coordinators, Project Teams, Subcontractors, Technical Office Team and Suppliers
• Developing, instigating and maintaining processes, procedures and standards for technical design

Joining an international team who are collaboratively breaking new ground by transforming temporary works designs, you will be a strong decision maker with logical methodology.


You will have:

• Completed a third level structural, structural or design engineering qualification.
• A minimum of 10 years' experience in design engineering
• A minimum of 10 years' experience working in Geotech, Concrete, Steel, Construction or Temporary Works Design Engineering
