Working Pattern: 35 Hours Per Week,Monday to Friday,Term Time + 10 days.

Outwood Academy Redcar welcomes students aged 11-16, located in the coastal town of Redcar near Middlesbrough in the North-East region.

About the Role:

We are seeking to appoint an energetic individual who will be responsible for the operational and administrative support to promote whole school attendance strategies in order to improve attendance levels and reduce persistent absence, in line with academy targets under the supervision of the Education Welfare Officer. The ideal candidate will be solution focused, have excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage our students and families.Home visits are required for this job role so you will require a current uk driving licence and use of your own vehicle, with appropriate business insurance.

The successful candidate will also be required to support with supervision duties within the academy, being a visible presence during breaktimes, lunch periods and during lesson changeovers.

We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant at Harris Primary Academy Philip Lane to support individuals and groups of children in early years to enable access to learning, contributing to the development and maintenance of a purposeful, nurturing learning environment.

We would like to hear from you if you have:

• Experience of working with or caring for children in early years, supporting learning
• Experience of establishing good relationships with parents and families, encouraging involvement in education
• Knowledge of effective strategies for engaging children, motivating them to learn and managing behaviour.
• The ability to use ICT and technology (e.g. video, digital cameras and photocopiers) effectively for administrative and display purposes and to support learning
• Understanding of key requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage and ability to support learning and development of young children
• Knowledge of policies such as behaviour and the ability to apply these consistently and fairly

Further details about the role

The purpose of your role will be:

• To work to support the learning of children in the early years classes (Nursery and Reception)
• To take regular class cover, in both Nursery and Reception, as well as occasionalad hoc cover as directed
• To work under the direction of a Principal, Early Years Lead and the class teacherto plan, prepare and deliver learning activities for individuals, groups and wholeclasses of children
• To work under the direction of the Early Years Lead and class teacher setting upand developing learning opportunities in the indoor and outdoor classrooms
• To play a full part in the early years team including monitoring and assessingpupils progress and reporting on their progress
• To monitor, assess and support children that have additional needs as required
• To attend meetings as appropriate

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and preparing PE courses and lessons, including dance and gymnastics, alongside CPD lessons, PPA cover, extra-curricular sessions and enrichment activities to enhance the school's PE and Sporting culture
• Ensuring all equipment associated with the PE session is correctly set up, maintained, stored and returned on completion
• Ensuring children identified for support are given every opportunity to access the curriculum and engage wtih the learning objectives
• Monitoring students in lessons and providing on participation and progress
• Completing summative assessments for all the classes taught
• Using behaviour management strategies to contribute to a purposeful learning environment
• Maintaining records of students' progress in relation to their targets.
• Contributing to evaluation, review and target setting of provision maps
• Leadership of PE and the organisation of resources linked to the curriculum team
• Supervising children as part of playground duties
• Assessing, recording and reporting on the development, progress and attainment of pupils
