We are looking to recruit an Exams Manager and Data Assistant to ensure that all student examinations are effectively planned and organised in a timely manner. Fernvale Primary School, part of the OWLS Academy Trust, have a great opportunity for a kind, caring and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our lovely support team! We are seeking dedicated experienced candidates who will work on a 1:1 basis with a child identified as having special educational needs and has an EHCP/High Needs. We are looking for someone who will work closely with our staff to support the intellectual and social developmental needs of our pupil during structured and unstructured times.
The successful candidate will need to deliver personalised activities inside and outside of the classroom, which help individuals to meet their agreed provision and targets.
The successful candidate will:
• Have previous experience in an educational setting and working with children aged 4 to 11;
• Have experience of working with pupils with speak and language needs;
• Have experience of working with pupils with ASD or ADHD or emotional behavioural needs;
• Have the ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with children and adults;
• Have had Team Teach training and experience of positive handling or a willingness to go on the training;
• Have knowledge of how/when best to intervene in children’s learning in order to help them progress;
• Have patience, resilience and a passion for the educational needs and development of happy and competent children;
• Be able to engage children both inside and outside of learning times and adaptability;
• Have knowledge and understanding of the requirements of Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults in the education sector as applicable to this role; and
• Possess a good standard of written/oral English and Numeracy skills.
We are looking for someone who:
• Has experience of supporting teaching and learning in a formal setting, ideally with pupils with special educational needs
• Is committed to supporting children to access all areas of school life;
• Understands how and when to intervene in children’s learning in order to help them progress;
• Who can be flexible and adapt to the child's need;
• Has experience of EYFS and KS1;
• Is willing to undertake training around interventions to support special educational needs pupils
