Due to an increase in our student numbers since we started this academic year in September 2024, we are looking to recruit two permanent TA2 Teaching Assistants in order to meet specific student needs across school, which may include providing general support for students in either KS3, KS4 or KS5.

Rumworth School is a highly regarded Local Education Authority maintained special school in Bolton with an excellent reputation for providing an outstanding provision for all students. Visitors to our school always comment on the “lovely feeling and buzz” and the calm & purposeful learning environment. We currently cater for a range of learning difficulties and additional needs for 340 students, with our new building expansion completing in March 2025 to offer 400 places. Our students are aged 11-19 and they all have an EHCP because they have a range of SEND which may include: Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties, Complex Needs, Autistic Spectrum Conditions, Hearing and Visual Impairment, Physical Disability and Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs. What our students definitely do all have is a wonderful sense of fun, a love of learning, a high regard for each other and the adults who work with them, and they can’t wait to meet you!

Our vision is “You can do it, we will help” - in order to meet the needs of our students, we do have small teaching group sizes and high adult to student ratios. As a teaching assistant within our team, you will embody our philosophy of supporting young people to be more “Confident, Resilient and Independent” through our rich offer of wider life experiences and activities.

Year 7 operates as a “Foundation Year” where students have a more class-based transition from their primary school with the Year 7 team delivering the majority of learning. Year 7 students also access specialist rooms including our dedicated Science laboratories, and they are taught by specialist subject teachers for lessons such as Science, Design Technology, Forest School, Art, Music, PE and ICT.

Students in Years 8 to 11 then follow a differentiated curriculum model, according to their needs:-

• Some follow a more formal curriculum with a modified mainstream approach
• Some have less transition and spend more time on the consolidation of basic skills in a based class

All students access appropriate external accreditation at the end of KS4 and during KS5, and our full accreditation offer includes GCSEs, ASDAN, BTEC, Functional Skills and Entry Level Certification, dependent upon subject and student ability. In KS5, students continue to follow the most suitable pathway for their ability. We offer a Year 14 Transition where some students continue on to the “Pathway to Employment” route, and those with SLD and complex needs would usually follow a “Pathway to Independence” route.

We are always keen to recruit staff of the highest calibre, and what matters most to us is that you are the “right fit” for our students. We do have a degree of internal flexibility when it comes to the age range you would be most keen to work with and the type of student needs that you have experience with. As this post requires GCSE grade C or above in both maths and English (or equivalent qualifications), we would also need you to provide proof of those qualifications at interview or prior to appointment.

The Role

The BRIDGES Family Support Team supports disabled children and their families. We have two permanent positions available for 20 hours per week.

As a Family Support Assistant, you will be a vital part of the team providing practical and personal support to disabled children. The support you will offer may be in their own homes or to enable them to get out and about.

You will be committed to helping families meet the needs of the young people in their care and, you must be willing to undertake training.

What do we do?

We provide 24-hour residential care for people who require continuation of care and rehabilitation, or assessment of future care needs. Our aim is to support residents to regain as much independence as possible, by involving residents with their care needs, to return home or move onto alternative care arrangements. We recognise the skills and experience individuals can bring and promote joint working, with both NHS and Local Authority staff working on-site.

About You

You must be experienced in providing care, or be willing to learn, and be able to demonstrate kindness and compassion when working with service users.

You should be able to use a computer as you will be required to use computer-based information systems.

The Governing Board are looking to appoint an energetic and highly motivated Teaching Assistant from January 2025 for our one and a half form entry Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School. We are looking for someone to work with a child on a one to one basis under the supervision of the class teacher, implementing actions in support plans to ensure EHCP outcomes are achieved. Main duties

The Governors at St Mary’s CE Primary School are seeking to appoint three Level 2 Special Needs Assistants to work with children in receipt of EHCPs. We are looking for candidates who are dedicated and highly motivated, and able to provide high quality support to children with high needs. We have vacancies in the EYFS, Key Stage One and Key Stage Two.

The candidates will have:

a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working with children of primary school age or NVQ 2 or equivalent in teaching assistance
experience of working with children with communication and interaction difficulties
experience of delivering interventions
knowledge about ASD and how best to support children with a diagnosis
a good understanding of behaviour and how to prevent and manage episodes of challenging behaviour
an understanding of sensory processing difficulties and how to support these through sensory circuits and other strategies
