The School of Cancer Sciences is looking for a Technician to provide in-depth and specialist technical support to Dr Nigel Jamieson and his group which is focussed on multiple aspects of spatial biology, in particular spatial transcriptomics, cancer immunology and personalised medicine related to Pancreatic Cancer. Nigel Jamieson’s group, based at the Wolfson Wohl Cancer Research Centre, is also part of the Cancer Research UK Scotland Centre and is one of the largest volume spatial-omic centres in Europe.

The Jamieson Spatial Biology group uses cutting edge spatial transcriptomics platforms (Nanostring GeoMx, NanoString CosMx, 10x Genomics VISIUM, XENIUM, stereoseq) to accelerate preclinical and clinical development of novel therapies across a spectrum of cancers.

The primary aim of this role is to support the characterisation of premalignant pancreatic cancer tumours using spatial biology platforms; however, due to the leading-edge nature of our work, we also collaborate with multiple groups across the University of Glasgow Campus and with researchers across Europe. This role will therefore also support the spatial transcriptomics research component for a series of research projects and clinical trials.

This job will provide the applicant with outstanding experience in the highly desirable fields of spatial transcriptomics and spatial biology research. What does a live-in carer do?

• Operate and instruct on the safe operation of engineering and/or construction equipment such as graders, skid steers, mini excavators, and tractors with varying attachments to perform cutting, moving, digging, grading, and trenching.
• Utilize equipment with masticator heads to complete vegetation treatment projects.

Our client is a specialist supplier of facade systems, brick tie channel systems and fasteners into the construction and civil industry. Our clients’ products are specified through Architects and Consulting Engineers, pulled through the contractors and then back sold through their distributors. Working to gain and break specification of brick tie systems and promote our clients’ products. Our client’s growth has seen the company turnover increase and their ability to service clients far beyond their expectations. The Role

This is a fundamental role in the company’s business strategy and requires an individual of a strong construction technical nature. Gaining specification and pulling the business through the contractors and distributors. The role will operate throughout the UK with some minimal European travel, you will be responsible for the extensive existing accounts our client has in the area as well as being challenged with the development of new business opportunities in the area through product specification. You will work autonomously in the office and field environments developing the company’s ongoing business strategy and control of their already strong market share in the area and you will play an integral part in the company’s development. As well as the standard products our client wishes applicants to at all times look to extend their customers knowledge of the extensive total product range that they are able to supply, selling for a company with a well-known brand name and looking to give added value to their customers.

The Candidate

Suitable applicants must be able to show strong specification sales experience of the above markets and be looking for a challenging new role. Specification Sales experience is required however applicants must also have experience of dealing at a construction technical level and must enjoy the technical challenges this role provides. The key to this role is a construction product sales background, building envelope and façade exposure. Technical product supply and the ability to gain specifications, break specifications, work to maintain the specification through the contractor before setting up product supply through distributors. The successful applicant will be a dynamic addition that will demonstrate an active business awareness of the potential and importance of this role.

Basic Salary £45-58K + Bonus + Full company benefits
