We are recruiting for a Trainee Clinical Photographer who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

As a Trainee Clinical Photographer you will provide support to the Department of Clinical Photography & Illustration (DCPI).

Contributing to the delivery of a day-to-day operational cost effective and efficient service including clinical photography, non-clinical photography, video and illustration (graphic design), to the Trust and other allied agencies.

The Trainee Clinical Photographer supports all clinical specialities including Plastic Surgery, Dermatology, Oral Surgery, ENT and Paediatrics (including sudden infant death and non-accidental injury), taking photographs in the studio, operating theatres, mortuary, outpatient clinics and on the wards.

Illustration (graphic design) and video have now become a major part of the DCPI’s remit, and the Clinical Photographer will be expected to fully participate in this work using industry standard software e.g. Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.

Training in-house will be provided in all aspects which the photographer is not fully conversant with.

We are recruiting for a Trainee Clinical Coding Clerk who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patient

You will abstract, analyse, translate clinical terminology as documented by healthcare practitioners into a clinical coded format using the International Classification of Diseases Tenth Revision [ICD-10] and Office of Population Census and Surveys Fourth Revision [OPCS 4] in accordance with the National Clinical Coding Standards and conventions.

You will also ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness of clinical coding which is used in patient activity data analysis, resource planning and income streams within the Trust.

The training forms part of the service transformation initiative delivered by NHS England as part of the Children and Young Peoples Mental Health Psychological Trainings (CYP PT). We are recruiting 4 trainee CWPs. Post holders will undertake training with University College London (UCL) alongside working in service . You will be taught to deliver evidence based guided self-help interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. You will also be taught how to deliver interventions in the community, for example, service user participation activities, training and group interventions. The post holder will use their newly developed skills to support children and young people who are referred into the service. Trainees will receive supervision to support their professional development.

You will study at University College London/Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families, with tutors that are renowned for their great work with children and families in the area of emotional and mental health. The Postgraduate Diploma in Child and Young Persons Psychological Wellbeing Practice will begin in January 2025 and the course lasts 1 year. As part of your training you will use the theory that you learn to deliver low intensity mental health interventions to adolescents and the parents of children presenting with mild anxiety, low mood and behaviours that challenge.

In service, you will initially shadow intervention and assessment sessions; shadow and take part in triage discussions and partake in clinical skills development. You will then be expected to complete initial assessments and deliver interventions for anxiety, low mood and behavioural difficulties with the support of your supervisor. Additionally you will attend regular supervision and training sessions; engage in service development activities and deliver workshops and groups with qualified members of staff.

The post holder will work towards gaining ACP accreditation and once able apply advanced clinical expertise, levels of judgement, discretion and decision making within the face to face element of the hospital at home service.
