Start date: ASAP Clifton Hill School is a lively, friendly, successful school for students age 11 to 19 with severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties or autism. You need to be conscientious, willing to learn new skills, fit and motivated, and able to work as part of a team. Experience of working with children/young people, adults with learning difficulties or in a care environment is preferred, but a commitment to improving the life outcomes for young people is key. The role includes working with young people with challenging behaviour, so physical and emotional resilience is required. A level 2 qualification in a relevant area is desirable but full training will be provided. Pupils Attainment and Progress Like many SEN environments; your duties are likely to vary and therefore candidates will need to be flexible and be able to lend a hand whenever required. Please note that duties will vary and you will be expected to contribute to the overall aims of Poppyfield when required. Skills and QualificationsSuccessful candidates are likely to demonstrate: Experience working with SEN in an employed or voluntary setting   A recognised qualification at Level 2 or above in Support work for Teaching and Learning in Schools or an equivalent is desirable    GCSE Maths and English Language qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent is essential. Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.  Knowledge or experience of pupils with SEN or SEMH/ASD  Ability to provide consistent support to our children The desire to put the child first and treat them as an individual  Be positive and creative in assisting to meet pupils’ individual needs  Be able to take part in the schools behaviour support approach, including physical intervention (accredited Team Teach) where necessary and always as a last resort.
