Hays Accountancy & Finance is partnering with a Food Production company in the Grimsby region who are looking to add an Assistant Accountant to their finance team.
Your new role
As Assistant Accountant, you will be a key part of the Finance Team reporting to the Assistant Finance Manager.
Main Responsibilities include;

• Prepare the labour, material & price variance in the weekly accounts
• Post agency direct & indirect labour journals
• Completion of weekly reports
• Completion of weekly & monthly BPC
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation and posting of manual journals inline with a defined month-end timetable
• Reviewing purchase orders raised
• Reviewing cost centre performance
• Completion of the balance rec sheets
• Distribute weekly analysis of invoice queries to the individuals raising PO's
• Reviewing invoice queries and resolving any issues to ensure suppliers are paid on time
• Review and solve route cause of issues
• Complete weekly procurement register of all PO's raised in the week
• Prepare excise duty return for review
• Support the commercial & finance team in any other ad hoc activities

What you'll need to succeed

• AAT Qualification
• Strong analytical & organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads to time-sensitive deadlines
• Attention to detail and upholding high standards
• Comfortable communicating to stakeholders at all levels
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

What skills and experience we're looking for

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Specialist Learning Support and Cover Assistant to support the work of our English and Humanities Faculty on our Ruskington Campus.

Provide additional skilled support and capacity within the Faculty, key responsibilities of the role will include:

• Working in partnership with teaching staff to raise the learning and attainment of students.
• Supporting teaching staff to assess student needs and progress, using detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support learning and promote student independence, self-esteem and social inclusion.
• Giving support to students, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement.
• Providing priority support for Pupil Premium students who have additional needs not met by an EHCP
• Providing EHCP support where required.
• Providing cover for absent Teaching Assistants where required.
• Providing support to Heads of Faculty as required.
• Providing cover for absent Teachers within the faculty where required, completing any administration required to facilitate this.

• Taking sole charge of a group of pupils as required with a system of supervision in place from qualified teachers in case of any difficulties.

Applicants should hold a level 2 or 3 qualification in a relevant discipline or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience. All applicants must also hold a minimum of 2 GCSE’s to include English and Maths from grade 9-4 (A*-C) or equivalent or be able to demonstrate a willingness to work towards achieving these qualifications.
