Therapy Assistant Band 3

This is an exciting time to join the UCR Team as we evolve to meet the needs of patients in Lincolnshire. Do you have a passion for admission avoidance? We are looking for a highly motivated and autonomous therapy assistant to be part of our UCR team. This service provides holistic assessments, treatment and support to patients in their usual place of residence who are experiencing a health or social care crisis who might otherwise be admitted to hospital or require ambulance call out. You will be part of a service in which care is provided by a multi-skilled team.

The UCR service is a fast paced, interdisciplinary community team aimed at preventing unnecessary admission to hospital by visiting patients in their own homes and assesses the patient’s safety to remain out of the acute environment. Patients are aged over 18 and are likely to present with frailty, falls or health deterioration. The team ensure the patient is supported out of hospital for a minimum 48 hour period and ensure transferred to appropriate services on discharge.

You will play a key role in supporting the UCR team in delivering high quality patient centred care to support individuals to remain safely at home. You will be working with a full multidisciplinary team of ACPs, physiotherapists, nurses, paramedics, occupational therapists, assistant practitioners and rehabilitation assistants.

You will also be part of our falls response service which aims to support patient's who have fallen at home and provide a falls pick up response and supporting with a holistic assessment of the individual's needs to support them to remain safely at home.

About the role

Work under the guidance of teaching/senior staff and within an agreed system of supervision, to implement agreed work programmes with individuals/groups, in or out of the classroom. To undertake cover supervisor duties where required by the Academy Principal. Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking to recruit a class-based Learning Support Assistant at Buckminster Primary School. This is initially a fixed term position, 20hrs per week, until Friday 11th July 2025, but with the potential to be made permanent. Hours are 8.30am to 1.30pm. Monday - Friday, term time only plus the 5 inset days (39 weeks).
We wish to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Learning Support Assistant who will work as an assistant in the classroom under the guidance of the class teacher and support from our team members.
You will be required to provide support for teaching and learning activities as well as 1:1 support for SEND children. This may include providing general support for whole class learning activities or supporting individuals or small groups of pupils to reinforce new skills or knowledge. Lunchtime and breaktime cover are part of the role.
We are looking for someone who is reflective and skilled and can motivate and encourage children as required. You might want to consider this as a stepping stone into teaching and apply to train within our Academy Trust or you might want to develop your role across our schools in the future within a specific area such as behaviour support, ASD children or pastoral needs.
Experience of working with children with SEN and knowledge of Child Protection and Health and Safety policies are essential.
It would be desirable that you have an NVQ Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent or some experience of working with children. Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English are essential, or currently working towards. Along with good interpersonal skills, you will be emphatic with children and young people, and be able to work effectively as part of a whole school staff team.
About the Mowbray Education Trust
The Mowbray Education Trust (MET) is a multi-academy trust currently educating around 2,500 children from the age of 2 to 16 in the town of Melton Mowbray and surrounding villages in the Borough of Melton. The MET currently has one secondary school, five primary schools and one pre-school: with potential numerical and geographical growth in the future.
Buckminster Primary school is the latest school to join the Mowbray Education Trust and is within the Melton district of Leicestershire and on the border with Lincolnshire. Buckminster primary school is easily commutable from Melton (15 minutes), Grantham (17 minutes) and Oakham (20 minutes).
The MET has a central support services team, with staff managing Estates, Finance, HR, IT and Operations, across our schools. The central team are based at offices within John Ferneley College and Pera in Melton Mowbray.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will see you undertaking a wide range of duties including purchase ledger, sales orders/invoicing, stock reconciliations, helping to produce weekly and monthly finance reporting, journals, balance sheet reconciliations and supporting at month end. The company is happy to consider both part-time (min 3 days a week) or full-time options.
