We are looking for band 2 Medical Laboratory Assistant’s for the Central Specimen Reception Department. These are full time permanent positions (37.5 hours per week).

The department provides a 24/7 service and the successful candidates will be required to participate in the shift system to cover early, late, weekend and bank holiday rosters. Some night duties may also be required.

KR 3 Policy and service development To follow policies and procedures in own area of work To participate in the consultation and engagement of service users in planning and delivering services which meet the needs of local communities. KR 4 Care or management of resources To take care of, and use carefully, the Trusts equipment and physical resources. To ensure that the post holder has sufficient resources by estimating future needs and requesting supplies as needed. To be responsible for safe-keeping of equipment or stock provided to the post holder and informing the supervising psychologist or manager when stock requires replenishing may apply to psychometric tests, specialised stationery etc KR 5 Teaching and Training To participate in demonstrating work methods to newly recruited Assistant Psychologists and to support their development of necessary skills. To disseminate research and service evaluation findings through presentations or published articles. To (arrange, schedule and) co-facilitate training to employees of the Trust or employees of partner agencies in order to support service improvement KR 6 Record-keeping and Information Governance To ensure that all information generated by own work is recorded as required by Trust policies and local procedures. Under the supervision of the practitioner psychologist to maintain the highest standards of clinical record keeping and report writing, according to professional and Trust guidelines, including electronic data entry. To maintain data bases and enter data, and perform analyses and produce reports. KR 7 Research and development To assist in the design and implementation of audit and research projects to inform the service Psychologist and others in the development of Trust psychology and other services, training provision and research activities. To undertake data collection, analysis, the production of reports and summaries, using IT and statistical programmes To undertake searches of evidence-based literature and research to assist in the development in the Trust of evidence based practice. Under guidance to conduct surveys with service users and carers to gather views on service provision KR 8 Maintaining professional standards and continuing professional development To receive regular clinical and professional supervision in accordance with professional practice guidelines To gain wider experience of professional psychology within the NHS over and above that provided within the principal service area where the post-holder is employed. To develop skills and competencies that assist in the delivery of current duties. To undertake personal training relevant to the post in agreement with the supervising psychologist and the manager. KR 9 General To be aware of risk relating to aggressive and challenging behaviour amongst the client group, and follow trust policies relating to its management To respond appropriately and professionally to emotionally distressing situations, such as challenging behaviour, abuse etc and to support others involved in such situations.

Clinical: 1. To assist, under the direct supervision of a qualified practitioner psychologist, in the development of a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all clients of the service, across all settings where care takes place 2. To assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a clients problems, under the supervision of a qualified psychologist. 3. To undertake, under the direct supervision of a qualified psychologist, protocol based psychological assessments of clients, including self-report measures and rating scales 4. To attend and contribute to appropriate team and multi-disciplinary meetings 5. To work with other staff to assess inpatients and review their care in preparation for multidisciplinary reviews, where appropriate 6. To assist qualified psychologists in the provision of reflective groups and other team-based interventions 7. To assist, under the direct supervision of a qualified professional psychologist, in the coordination and running of focus groups. 8. In common with all practitioner psychologists, to receive regular clinical supervision in accordance with professional practice guidelines. 2. To gain wider experience of professional psychology within the NHS as agreed with the psychologist to whom they are accountable. 3. To develop skills and competencies that assist in the delivery of current duties. 4. To contribute, under the direct supervision of a qualified psychologist, to the training and support of staff. 5. To contribute, under the direct supervision of a qualified psychologist to developing teaching and training materials for staff. Management, recruitment and service development 1. To assist in the design and implementation of the sector wide service development project within NWL. 2. To attend meetings in which service developments are planned and discussed. 3. The post holder will be required to attend and contribute, where appropriate, to the regular professional meetings of the Clinical Health Psychology Specialty and other Departmental meetings. 4. To be motivated and proactive, supporting in the development of the service and interventions. IT responsibilities The post holder will input and maintain, appropriate computer and manual clinical records and statistical data and provide this to the Service Manager/Head of Speciality when necessary. 2. The postholder will engage in relevant computer and IT training as required. 3. To assist, under the direct supervision of a qualified professional psychologist, in the development, design and implementation of relevant IT projects. Service evaluation 1. To undertake production of questionnaires, data collection, setting up of databases and spreadsheets, data analysis, and the production of reports and presentation of summaries to colleagues using IT and statistical programmes, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and SPSS. 2. To assist in the design and implementation of audit projects. 3. To undertake searches of evidence-based literature and research to assist qualified clinical psychologists in evidence-based practice in individual and team work, and work with other team members. General To contribute to the development and maintenance of the highest professional standards of practice, through active participation in internal and external CPD training and development programmes, in consultation with the postholders professional and team/operational manager(s). To maintain the highest standards of clinical record keeping and report writing in accordance with professional codes of practice of the British Psychological Society and Trust policies and procedures. To undertake specific administrative duties as required, which will be a key element of supporting the service within this role. Under the supervision of a qualified psychologist, to assist with the production of materials to support the service in a variety of ways as it develops, such as developing posters and power point presentations to promote the service, developing service maps and reviews of wider systems, to support signposting etc. To perform other duties of a similar kind appropriate to the grade, which may be required from time to time by their Psychology Manager. To work in a highly emotive atmosphere and be able to communicate sensitive and complex information, whilst always maintaining a high degree of professionalism. **Purpose of the job:**

I am an older gentleman who has dementia living in the Camden area. I require a bank carer/assistant that can cover my existing team when they are on holiday or off sick.

I love to go out daily and have regular daily activities. I am looking for someone to accompany me to Chalk Farm NW1 to my lunch club, and then head down to Camden Town NW1 for my art class.

I am a very chatty man and likes a laugh and dancing. I am also a Frank Sinatra fan, and an Arsenal supporter. The qualities Im looking for in a PA are the following: they should like to have some banter, be able to walk well as I enjoy walking, have knowledge of the Camden area, and if not be able to use google maps on their phone. Some of my activities may involve bus journeys so using public transport is a necessity.




**Hours and rate of Pay:**


* £14.10 per hour
* Up to 30 hours per week as and when required.
* Guaranteed hours for 23/12/24, 27/12/24, 30/12/24 and 2/1/25.




**Supervision:**


* My personal assistant is accountable to the employer in all aspects of their work. They should always ask what my needs are and listen to my directions and requests.




**Main Duties:**


* Support to access the community to engage in various social activities.
* Assist with personal care, breakfast preparation, prompts with medication, light cleaning and laundry.
