We are looking for a passionate and ambitious Early Years Team Leader who will join Westwood Nursery education team to ensure the successful running of the nursery. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to step into a key leadership role within our nursery setting.
Westwood Nursery at the University of Bath provides care and education to around 48 young children between the ages 6 months to 5 years. Opening on site in 1977 we are extremely proud of our ‘Ofsted Outstanding’ record which we have held since 2015, and we work closely with many other departments within the University of Bath to ensure the safety, wellbeing and best possible education for children.
This opportunity provides the chance to further your career in a nurturing environment that values your professional development. You can make a lasting impact on the lives of young children, setting them on a path of lifelong learning whilst benefitting from a collaborative team, ongoing training, and a leadership structure.
We currently have a full-time, permanent contract available (5 days per week). If you are interested in joining us but these hours don’t work for you, please still get in touch as we may be flexible on the working arrangements.
About the role
Working for Westwood Nursery at the University of Bath is not like working for a 'big' corporate company. We provide care and education to children, mostly from staff and students at the University enabling them the opportunity to work, study and make a real difference to the education we provide and research outcomes we achieve.
Our campus offers a safe environment to enrich the children's development − from woodland walks and trips to see the ducks at our pond, to experiencing the energy within our sports village. We offer a safe, caring and stimulating environment where children can learn and develop to their full potential. Every child at the Nursery is seen as an individual, and we support all needs, abilities and interests.
As a Team Leader, you will be at the heart of our nursery, leading by example and contributing to the growth and development of our young children. Your responsibilities will include:
Inspiring Excellence: Enable an environment where each child flourishes, ensuring their individual needs are met and their progress celebrated.
Guiding a Team: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of dedicated people, nurturing their talents and fostering a collaborative atmosphere.
EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage): You’ll get to collaborate with colleagues to design engaging and innovative activities for our young children
Networking: Interact with parents, ensuring open communication and involvement in their child's educational journey.
About you
* Hold a relevant childcare qualification (minimum Level 3) and a clear passion for early years education.
* Committed to safeguarding our children, ensuring their care and education are second to none.
* Demonstrated experience in an early year’s setting, with proven leadership capabilities.
* A creative thinker with the ability to design and implement captivating activities that cater to diverse learning styles.
* Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with children, parents, and colleagues.
* Expert knowledge in the provision of high-quality care to children aged 6 months to 5 years.
