The post holder has direct line management of senior staff within the department and holds a significant standing within the organisation as a whole. The post holder will also have a key supporting role in the development of the following strategies; CIPs, operational planning, financial planning & reporting.

They will lead on the production of accurate and timely monthly financial information for reports to the Board of Directors, Board Sub Committees and other committees. The post holder will lead the delivery of annual financial plans and their translation into agreed budgets across the organisation, inclusive of required CIP targets. Chair of Finance department systems group, ensuring continual modernisation and improvement of finance systems To provide a comprehensive financial management and support service to the Trust, providing a range of advice concerning income, planning, PLICs and financial systems To take lead responsibility for the Trusts annual financial planning process combing income, expenditure plans ensuring triangulation with workforce and activity plans whilst adhering to corporate standards and timetables Responsible for annual national cost collection submissions, managing the Trusts managed service for costing Develop and maintain a suite of internal productivity metrics which are updated each month to provide continuous updates on value for money and areas for improvement Takes the lead on developing PLICs data including driving engagement, securing clinical input and education and training To support of the Deputy Director of Operational Finance to ensure the Trust makes effective use of the available financial resources in pursuit of agreed Divisional and Corporate goals. To deputise for the Deputy Director of Finance as appropriate. To be responsible for the day-to-day management of Income accountant, Head of Costing and Systems Accountant Ensure that the trusts values are at the heart of all decisions made and behaviours displayed. To actively engage and take a lead with Trusts Finance Staff Development (FSD) and Future Focused Finance (FFF) Lead, liaising with the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and other National FSD/FFF Leads, ensuring that an effective, efficient and customer focused finance service is provided to the organisation. Provide leadership to the Overseas Team, who are members of the finance team responsible recovering charges for NHS treatment in relation to any person who is not ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom.

The Divisional Director of Operations (DDO) is a key senior management and senior leadership position with the responsibility and accountability to manage, develop, direct and lead service improvement and performance strategies and policies to ensure delivery of high quality, safe, efficient and effective patient care in the Division. The DDO is responsible for the all performance delivery within the Division. As such the DDO is required to ensure that there are suitable programmes for developing and implementing performance management strategies, implementation of business development, and planning and commercial development strategies which are consistent with the Trust's need for business efficiency, effectiveness, flexibility, value for money, high staff morale and improving patient care. This roles responsibility includes the day-to-day management of all the services within the job remit through the clinical staff and managers. This includes staff management, service delivery, service improvement, clinical governance, financial control and delivery of cost improvement programmes and workstreams within the Turnaround Plan. The DDO will be responsible for coordinating operational plans for the management team that reflect the Trusts strategic direction. All senior leaders are expected to work as part of a cohesive team and, when necessary, to take lead responsibility for corporate issues outside their immediate sphere of responsibility in order to achieve the corporate objectives of the Trust.
