Here at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, we are seeking applications for the position of Director of Operations. This is a Band 9 role, on a 6 month contract which we are happy to offer on a secondment basis if suitable. Reporting directly to our Chief Operating Officer, Rae Wheatcroft, this is a vital role with responsibility for the leadership and management of all clinical operations; including the line management of our five Divisional Directors of Operations, and the development of sustainable, high performing services to deliver both local and national standards.

Interviews for this role will be held on the afternoon of Wednesday 17th July 2024 at the Royal Bolton Hospital.

You will be an integral member of the Chief Operating Officer’s team, ensuring high quality, safe, service delivery together with planning for on-site developments and assisting in the business planning process. You will deputise for the Chief Operating Officer across the full range of COO duties working closely with the Divisional teams to ensure the safe and effective day to day operations of the organisation are maintained.

As Director of Operations you will be responsible for the following functions:

· Daily operational oversight of the hospital site.

· Delivery of key operational standards, in conjunction with the Chief Operating Officer across all Trust sites.

· Establish and maintain essential working with partnerships with our Local Authority, VCSE, CCG, NHSE, and NWAS colleagues

· Responsible for ensuring the COO receives appropriate assurance on the delivery of operational performance.

· Work with the wider Executive Team to support the implementation of a range of policies and procedures relating to all service areas

We are looking for an experienced operational leader with a comprehensive understanding of our Adult Care Services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational leadership of the Trust’s Patient flow and so an ability to work effectively in partnership with the MDT other divisional colleagues is essential.
