We're looking for exceptional people to join our amazing National Careers Service Team, as either a trainee or a qualified Careers Adviser.

We’re looking for people who like helping people. You may come from a sales, teaching or recruitment background or have some experience in delivering careers advice and enjoy working in a target focussed environment. We’re not looking for someone who ticks every single box, but we’d love you to have an engaging personality to provide a warm and welcoming experience for our customers. You’ll need a can-do attitude to seek out solutions to help our customers to progress their careers.

You’ll need to be flexible as every day is different in National Careers Service. As a Careers Adviser you’ll make our customers feel welcome and comfortable when they attend our service. You’ll need to be able to engage with customers from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences. You’ll hold 1-1 appointments and group workshops in a wide range of settings, including careers fairs, community and commercial venues along with one-off pop-ups. You'll also need to be organised to manage your diary and complete admin tasks, plus be confident using IT for delivery and admin tasks. The role is targeted, to enable us to achieve targets that are agreed with our commissioners.

We need your skills to empower and encourage customers to develop a career skills action plan and support them in their learning and development whilst monitoring their progress to build their confidence throughout their journey to successfully starting work, learning or both.

We provide on the job training and will support you to achieve your Level 4 Certificate in Careers Information and Guidance if you do not currently hold this qualification.

What you’ll be doing

With experience within this sector, you’ll already be familiar with what we’re looking for. You’ll have the opportunity to work on and manage a range of EIA projects, including large scale renewable DCO projects. You will be able to lead a multidisciplinary EIA project team and provide advice to the client, based on your experience on other projects.

A typical week could include:

· Project management role for large DCO projects or for several smaller TCPA EIA projects

· Advising on legislative requirements, good practice, budget and programme.

· Management of EIA consultation, requirements including coordination of Expert Working Groups

Who we’re looking for

You’ll have excellent experience of managing EIA projects, ideally including DCO and renewable infrastructure projects. Experience in the requirements for developing and consenting offshore wind, onshore cable routes, substations, solar farms would be an advantage.

Your report writing and review skills will reflect our high standards and you will be able to work collaboratively and have the ability to work with clients legal teams and other consultancies. A good eye for detail is essential as are strong problem-solving skills, helping to address client concerns and ‘make complex easy’. We’d like you to have:

· Experience of managing large EIA projects (essential).

· Experience working on large DCO projects, ideally including renewable projects (desirable).

· Experience in managing the client-EIA team interface and ensuring our clients’ high standards are met (essential).

· Detailed knowledge of the EIA Regulations and Planning Act and the requirements to deliver a compliant submission (essential).

· An eye for detail (essential).

· Willingness to travel for client or stakeholder meetings.

· Previous digital EIA experience or relevant skills to help in leading out digital EIA offering (desirable).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Act in a manner consistent with The Code NMC (2015) carrying out the role in accordance with locally agreed policies and procedures. 2. Support the CRF Senior Charge Nurses and Matron in the co-ordination and management of CRF Outpatients. 3. Be responsible for and maintain a safe and effective working environment, resolving issues where possible and escalating appropriately. Responsible for undertaking MEG and FLO audits and implementing any actions arising. 4. Organise and implement a daily work schedule, ensuring an effective skill mix, deploying staff flexibly to meet the resource needs of individual clinics together with utilizing Trust IT packages that support patient scheduling and phlebotomy bookings. 5. Assess, plan and implement clinical care for the unwell patient; maintain associated patient records. Communicate and escalate to appropriate teams. 6. Safely perform essential nursing duties within the CRF Outpatient setting, contributing to clinic operations by assisting with admissions, dressing changes, administering injections etc., and referring patients to appropriate members of the multidisciplinary team. 7. Develop good working relationships, attend appropriate meetings and demonstrate clear communication with teams both within and outside of R&I to ensure patients have an effective and efficient research experience. 8. Line manage the HCA team, fostering staff potential and encouraging participation in personal development plans. 9. Ensure HCA team are compliant with mandatory and clinical training requirements. Work closely with CRF Clinical Educator. 10. Be aware of Health and Safety issues and ensure relevant risk assessments are undertaken. 11. When appropriate, in rotation with other CCU sisters, take charge of the unit in the absence of the unit Manager, ensuring that standards of care and unit management are maintained. 2. In the absence of the unit Manager ensure skill mix is appropriate to clinical needs and keep Senior Nurse Managers/Modern Matrons aware of pertinent issues in the clinical area. 3. Help foster a supportive working environment and maintenance of staff morale, promoting a culture in which staffs feel valued and able to reach their potential. 4. Act as a preceptor/mentor to new unit staff and Pre and Post Registered Nurses. 5. Work with unit Sister to ensure clinical standards of care are achieved and participate in audit of clinical care. 6. Be aware of responsibilities with regard to Health and Safety at Work Act. Supporting the unit manager in initiating and implementing change, and in promoting an awareness of professional accountability. 8.
