Manage own workload in a designated highly specialist area without supervision as appropriate using all forms of knowledge, skills and experience required in order to be able to undertake the duties competently. To demonstrate a complex level of communication and relationship skills promoting and maintaining effective liaison throughout the Unit team and with the wider multidisciplinary team. Ensure the Health and Safety of all staff, patients and visitors. Reporting all incidents/accidents/near misses to the team leader. Document and monitor the safe use of equipment and economic use of supplies. Provide accurate and timely collection and submission of appropriate Theatre activity data, using appropriate manual and computerised systems. To ensure safe quality care is provided for patients within the Unit as Trust and Unit policy. To maintain an understanding of and adhere to all Trust and Unit policies and procedures and ensure attendance of mandatory annual training e.g. Fire, Manual Handling, CPR etc. To have an understanding of Risk Management and to participate in the identification/analysis of risk.

1. To cover reception in the outpatients department, greeting patients on arrival for a clinic appointment in the outpatient department, booking the patient in using the clinical system and directing patients to the appropriate waiting area.2. To communicate non-clinical verbal information in a precise and effective way both internally and externally to patients, relatives and carers for many of whom there may be communication difficulties as a result of old age, hearing loss, pain, fear and language or learning difficulties. Information has to be communicated using relevant speed, accuracy, tact, understanding and confidentiality.3. To provide an effective and efficient, customer friendly service to the patients of MPFT, their families and carers.4. To appoint, cancel and rearrange appointments as required using the Trusts patient recording system.5. To answer telephone enquiries from members of the public and other healthcare departments / professionals.6. To process appropriate letters in relation to the patients appointment.7. To provide support and advice, maintain channels of communication and links with clinical and other staff within the department.8. To support the day-to-day running of clinics ensuring they are used to capacity.9. The role is varied, requires confidentiality, initiative, flexibility and capacity of handling peaks in the work programme and an ability to relate to a wide range of individuals on behalf of MPFT.10. Recording accurate, confidential and sensitive patient information11. Methodical and able to work under pressure and multi-task.12. Compliance of Standard Operating Procedures, good practice and established precedents.13. Demonstrate a willingness to undertake further training, identification of own development and training needs

Your new role
The jobs we have are dependent on the needs of each school, and can be on a full or part-time basis. Working as a supply Teaching Assistant suits those who have a passion for working within a school and can be flexible and adaptable, due to the diversity of the schools we work with. We are currently looking for TA's who have a desire to work with children. This could be within a full classroom, or taking a small group to improve a core skill, for example, reading, or provide 1:1 care for an individual child with SEN.

What you'll need to succeed
You should have experience in a classroom setting within the last 2 years. You should feel confident working with children in small groups. You will need to be professional at all times, as well as friendly and enthusiastic. You will need to be able to communicate effectively with staff, children and parents.
