• Develop and maintain Risk Approach Plans to characterize and mitigate each risk assigned to the Element and maintain awareness of crew health and performance concerns and issues associated with Artemis missions.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• A firm understanding and application of health physics as it relates to a medical environment.
• Knowledge of the underlying principles of x-ray producing devices and the methods for assessing the satisfactory performance of these systems, which include all types of radiographic, fluoroscopic, and computerized tomography.
• Participates in collaboration with physicians, technologists, and biomedical engineers to optimize diagnostic imaging in accordance with ACR Quality Control Manuals (e.g., mammography, nuclear medicine, PET, CT and MRI).
• Performs physics testing for modalities including X-ray radiography, fluoroscopy, CT, nuclear medicine, PET, MRI and ultrasound.
• Assist the Radiation Officer in providing direction of work and provides technical guidance to those whose responsibilities include administering the personnel dosimetry program, conducting audits and radiation surveys, as well as preparing, surveying and decontaminating radioiodine therapy rooms and giving radiation safety training to physicians, nursing staff, researchers, technologists, housekeepers and other staff.
• Assists the Radiation Officer with management of contracts including personnel dosimetry and x-ray machine performance evaluations.
• Use judgment, initiative, and resourcefulness in assisting the RSO with selecting approaches, evaluating findings, researching new developments in the field, and in deviating from or extending traditional health physics methods, techniques, and practices to develop solutions.
• Knowledge of the principles and techniques employed in medical imaging quality control and knowledge of the standards and the administrative organization required to effectively design and implement programs for radiation safety and medical imaging quality control.

Position is located in the Human Resources Office of a Bureau of Prisons (BOP) federal correctional facility.

Responsible for assisting in administering and implementing human resource programs at the facility.

Contributes to the staffing functions by developing recruitment sources and methods, participating in recruitment activities, advising prospective applicants, scheduling and conducting interviews, requesting certificates of eligible candidates, and preparing requests for security clearances.

Provides assistance in administering employee relations matters, including administration of the incentive awards program, performance evaluation program, and leave administration program.

Assists in administering the employee-management relations program to ensure stable and cooperative relations between management and line staff.

Provides advisory services to a wide range of employees.

Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.

SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to be the single point of contact for designing, developing, and evaluating technical training courses, instructional materials, and measurement devices through the analysis of educational or instructional problems or questions. Also responsible for supervising, planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over subordinate employee(s) assigned to the Training Development element.

DUTIES:

• Serves as Training Development Element Chief, 382 TRS Training Development Element, developing strategic plans for the development of training courses at Ft Sam Houston and across 12 USAF medical treatment facilities located on 12 USAF military bases in subject-matter areas and groupings of courses aligned with Air Force (AF), Air Education Training Command (AETC), and unit objectives.
• Develops, reviews, and revises technical training courses, instructional materials, and measurement devices in accordance with AETC instructional guidance and AFI 41-105, Medical Training Programs.
• Represents the 382d Squadron Training Development Function with a variety of installation and functional area organizations to include those located at JBSA Ft Sam Houston and 12 USAF medical treatment facilities located across 12 military bases.
• Provides technical and administrative supervision to nine 382 TRS curriculum development managers (CDM), one test custodian, and ten career development course (CDC) writers within the Training Development Element.
