The difference you will make as a Support Worker

This role is part of RSAP. This service supports people who have experienced homelessness and are now living in temporary accommodation for up to 3 years.

You will be located in Powerhouse, Liverpool but spend time in the community visiting customers in their own properties, providing housing-related support to help them move on to more permanent accommodation.

You will provide support to our customers in a variety of ways. For example, connecting them with employability coaches and other support agencies, helping them manage their money, signing up for benefits or to move on to a more permanent home.

It will be your job to help boost their confidence and support them on their journey as they rebuild their lives. Through all of this you will need to keep records of everything, so there is some admin to do. At times this role is tough, but most of the time it can be incredibly rewarding. You will need to be resilient, empathetic, and able to leave your work at work and not take it home with you.

The Role:

In the role of a Service Delivery Manager, you will be in control of the SEN Transport and Social Care Transport Operation, including a team of 7 officers and a Principal officer. The role reports directly to the Head of Passenger Transport and Fleet
As a Service Delivery Manager, you will work on schedules and processes to ensure service users safe and efficient carriage as well as liaising with contractors, service users, parents and carers, schools, daycentres and parent forums regarding service delivery

The Service Delivery Manager will work closely with stakeholders, including other departments, Parent & Carer forums, Transformation team and respond to complaints, appeals, freedom of information or SAR requests related to the department and will ensure invoices and spend is accurately controlled and reported

The successful candidate will join an established team of Upper GI cancer surgeons, working within the RLUH providing an Upper GI cancer resection service for Liverpool and surrounding areas. This comprises a population in excess of 1.5 million patients, and generates approximately 150 resections per year. This includes patients from across the region including patients from the catchment area of North and South Liverpool, the Wirral, St Helens and Knowsley, North Cheshire, Southport, Chester and the Isle of Man. Expected duties will include an active role in maintaining and developing the elective Upper GI cancer service, whilst contributing equitably to the out of hours service; for both elective and emergency activity. The unit facilitates mentorship and two-consultant operating where necessary, particularly in the early years of Consultant appointment. The new appointee will have equitable working conditions to colleagues within both the Upper GI unit and wider surgical department. The Upper GI unit works as a team with a consultant ward round every day, 365 days a year. Postoperative and emergency patients are looked after by the consultants within the Upper GI team. Therefore when a colleague is on leave or at a different hospital site there is no requirement for cover.
