As a Consultant Psychiatrist in Liaison Psychiatry based at Tunbridge Wells Hospital and Maidstone Hospital in Kent, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality clinical service and actively involved in the strategic development of the team and broader services.

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital trust providing a full range of general hospital services to around 500,000 people living in the South of West Kent and parts of North East Sussex. The Liaison Psychiatry Service provides a single point of contact for the mental health needs of patients attending the Emergency Department or admitted to the general hospital.

In this role, you will be working jointly with another Consultant Liaison Psychiatrist and share operational and clinical leadership to ensure that the sites are suitably covered.

Successful applicants will ideally have MRCPsych or equivalent and be on, or within six months of inclusion on, the Specialist Register. You will be fully registered with the GMC, and have Approved Clinician status and S12 approval under the Mental Health Act (or achieve this within 3 months of appointment).
• To provide psychiatric care to patients referred to the Liaison Psychiatry Service
• To provide professional leadership including clinical supervision to the medical team and to provide clinical leadership to the Liaison Multidisciplinary Team
• To ensure effective liaison occurs between mental health services and the acute hospital, and also with other agencies in the voluntary and statutory sectors as appropriate
• To act as a Responsible Clinician (Approved Clinician status) for patients detained under the MHA to the acute trust

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Endocrine Team at Maidstone Hospital, and we are looking to recruit a full-time fixed-term or secondment as an Endocrine Specialist nurse. The post holder will be key in supporting the Endocrine Consultants and service, working with patients and other health care professionals to ensure patients are receiving the best care and support with their condition, and streamlining the patient’s pathway.

We are an Outpatient service and the role will be full-time 37.5 hours on weekdays. It will require you to work predominantly at Maidstone Hospital, however there may be occasions you will be required to work cross-site at Tunbridge Wells.

The post holder will work as part of the Endocrine multi-disciplinary team providing specialist nursing care to a patients with endocrine conditions. Key responsibilities of the role include managing the patient advice-line, patient education, performing dynamic function tests aiding diagnosis, attending and presenting at MDT meetings, and running nurse-led telephone clinics to manage patients with thyroid conditions.

The role will also involve patient education in the form of teaching sessions for adrenal insufficiency, to empower patients with the knowledge to manage their condition. At times you may also be required to support and educate nursing and ward staff, and will promote awareness, implementation and adherence of Trust, National and Professional polices and guidelines.

The post-holder will support the investigation and management of patients with potential endocrine disorders by performing dynamic function tests to help diagnose conditions, interpret these results and feedback to the Consultants to initiate treatment where appropriate. Cannulation and phlebotomy skills are therefore essential. The role will involve correspondence with other health care professionals in primary and secondary care, therefore strong written and communication skills are desirable.

The post-holder will run weekly nurse-led thyroid clinics, where it will be required to interpret blood results and assess symptoms, and manage medications appropriately using clinical judgement and Trust protocols. You will need to be able to work autonomously, however be able to escalate concerns or seek clinical guidance when appropriate and will be supported by the Endocrine team.

You will be self-motivated, organised, computer literate and able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and committed to service provision whilst maintaining own continual professional development

The post holder will act as a Parkinson’s Disease Nurse practitioner through strong clinical leadership andeffective management and will support primary care services within Neurology and Elderly Care Service in Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells Hospital NHS Trust and Kent Community Health Foundation NHS Trust to promote and deliver nurse excellence for adults with Parkinson’s Disease. This role requires a good level of competence, nursing expertise and evidence based clinical care and decision-making skills.

To be able to work autonomously in managing a defined caseload of adults with Parkinson’s under the supervision of Band 7 PD Nurse Specialist. The post holder will be involved in direct patient care for adults with Parkinson’s Disease from initial diagnosis through to the palliative stages of the illness, by providing advice, assessment and medication management to patients, their families/carers and professionals.

The post holder will be responsible for delivering nurse led clinics on a 1:1 basis with patients as well as providing community visits and supporting educational patient groups for patients who are newly diagnosed with Parkinson’s and potentially offer an in-reach service to local hospitals to prevent hospital admissions and coordinate better care packages upon discharge where needed.

To assist the Community Parkinson’s Disease Specialist Nurse in the provision of the specialist nursing service for all adult patients with Parkinson’s Disease across the West Kent locality.

• Undertake assessment and treatment of clients within both clinic and community setting, who have

• To work across professional, departmental and Trust boundaries to support the delivery of a patient-centredseamless service.

What is Mental Health Together?

In Kent and Medway, the community mental health transformation has created a new service model called Mental Health Together.

Mental Health Together will add new roles as part of a new joined-up model of care that bridges the gap between primary (i.e. GPs) and community mental health (i.e. KMPT). It will treat people with complex mental health needs by:

• Providing someone with support in a person-centred, holistic way
• Removing barriers to access, and thresholds across services working together
• Involving service users and carers as equal partners in their care
• Building in involvement and co-production at all levels of service design delivery
• Delivering needs-led and personalised trauma-informed care.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills that you’ll use to support the team to provide the best possible care. You'll work alongside our existing Operational Team Leader and Lead Clinician, with specific clinical leadership responsibilities and support decision-making around complex cases as a key member of the multidisciplinary team.

You will provide clinical and professional supervision to all band 6 nurses in the team. A flexible and can-do attitude is essential.

A diverse post-qualification experience in mental health is required, as is at least 3 years post-qualifying experience, with at least one of these years having worked in a Band 6 role.

About the Role:

About the Role:

As a Senior Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of water treatment solutions for a major project. You will provide technical expertise, lead engineering teams, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

As a Senior Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:

• Providing technical guidance and expertise on water treatment processes, technologies, and equipment
• Supervise all works to ensure Health and Safety standards are maintained
• Ensure all Risk Assessments and Methodology Statements are in place
• Developing conceptual designs, detailed engineering drawings, and specifications for water treatment systems
• Be able to identify any design issues and raise these to the attention of the Project Manager and Commercial Team whilst providing solutions
• Diagnosing and resolving technical challenges, identifying potential risks, and implementing solutions to optimise performance
• Maintain programme and identify opportunities
• Ensuring projects comply with all relevant water treatment regulations, industry standards, and safety requirements
• Communicating effectively with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies, ensuring clear understanding of project requirements and progress
• Maintain a full and accurate daily site diary, including any specialist attendance and any changes/ variations

What we are looking for:

• A proven track record as a Senior Engineer or similar role within the water treatment industry
• Recognised Civil Engineering or Site Management Qualification
• CSCS Management
• First Aid
• SSSTS
• A valid UK driving license

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to be based in the Kent area, working with this well known specialist marines contractor on schemes across the Kent and Sussex areas. This contractor deals with all aspects of marines civil engineering and therefore you must have experience in this field.

The Role:

This is the perfect opportunity working with a well known marines civils contractor, who hold an excellent reputation.

This role will be site / office based ideally 5 days a week.

You will be responsible for:

• Procuring sub-contractors, agreeing prices and letting the packages
• Negotiating costs with various parties
• Drawing up contracts (NEC)
• Monthly reporting (CVR)
• Responsible for work package change control and management
• Dealing with any pricing variations
• Responsible for project re-measure
• Preparing final accounts
• Change management
• Managing subcontractors
• Working within an integrated team

Requirements:

• NEC 3 or 4 (Option B and E experience)
• Degree / HND in Quantity Surveying
• Excellent IT and maths skills are essential
• Attention to detail
• Excellent report writing and negotiation skills are essential
• Experience in - highways, bridges, infrastructure, environmental, frameworks and special works

Benefits:

• £60,000 - 70,000 per annum (depending on experience) + package

• Fully understanding design
• Supervising all subcontract and direct labour and technical staff
• Planning, scheduling, procuring and delivering the project effectively, often to a tight schedule
• Managing all health and safety
• Liaising with the client team and consultants
• Identify what the client wants to achieve
• Agree timescales, costs and resources needed
• Drawing up a detailed plan of how to achieve each stage of the project, as well as an overall plan
• Ensure a project team is in place and manage that team throughout the progress of the whole project
• Ensure that each stage of the project is progressing on time and on budget and identify any issues that may prevent this from happening
• Responsible for reporting regularly on the progress of the project to the client and/or to the senior managers
• Working to the contract (NEC)
