The MPGS provides professional soldiers to meet armed security requirements at Royal Navy, Army, RAF and other MOD bases across the UK Mainland. Our primary role is to counter the terrorist threat posed to military bases within the UK

Our duties include:

Security incident management - Such as suspicious packages, bomb threats, protests, etc.

Patrolling site perimeters - Taking necessary action to preserve perimeter security.

SSEN are currently looking for experienced Linespersons to join our Southern Electric Power Distribution team.

A Linesperson is at the heart of our network, helping us to power change. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidates to develop an exciting career and further authorisation within SSE.

The role will include:

- Carrying out construction and repair work on all of our networks from LV up to and including 11/33kV.

- Being responsible for the safety of yourself and colleagues, whilst acting as an ambassador for a strong safety culture in everything you do.

- This role can be demanding, and you'll also be required to respond quickly to any emergency situations that may arise as we want to provide the best possible service to our customers in their time of need.

- Working outdoors in all weather conditions with a requirement to undertake out of hours standby duties and short notice attendance for storm situations.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- DNO Industry in the UK or overseas recognised overhead line qualifications in LV, HV, 11kV & 33kV from a recognised training school; experience or qualification in 11kV Live Line working is highly advantageous.

- A proven track record in construction, repair and operation of electrical plant and equipment.

- A high regard for safety, embedding yourself in our safety culture and adhering to guidelines in everything you do is a key priority, strong communication skills and an ability to convey technical aspects in a transferable manner, enthusiasm and drive with a flexible approach to work and an ability to adapt to changing business and project priorities.

- A flexible approach to complete out of hours stand-by duties and attend short notice work in the event of severe weather.

- It is an essential requirement you have a full UK driving licence.

As a point of contact for the People and Culture team you will support with managing, Freedom of Information requests, sharing and disclosure of personal information requests and data breach recording.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the process for Subject Access Requests by circulating to the appropriate manager, collating and redacting information to comply with Data Protection Act.
Manage and circulate requests for information to the appropriate colleagues, collating responses and supplying information to the requestors, ensuring compliance with the GDPR, Freedom of Information Act and adhering to strict legislative timescales.
Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on information governance including, corporate policies and complex legislation.
Use initiative and analytical skills to apply existing methods and techniques with a range of different customers. Communicate and ensure understanding of required outcomes to comply with the Corporate Information Governance framework.
Create, recommend and implement new, more effective and efficient ways of working, identifying improvements in working practices and sharing best practice.
Support and lead the development of a records management process. Maintaining retention and disposal criteria, identifying areas for review and implementing changes, arranging task and finish groups, be the champion/super user for working groups, audit compliance with clear desk policies.
Undertake investigations and report on internal data protection breaches. Provide managers with the correct documentation and support to investigate within the deadlines required.
Undertake such other duties as may be required from time to time commensurate with the level of the post.

Qualifications:

HR entry level qualification or equivalent experience



Skills & Experience:

Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
Knowledge of GDPR, practices, and legislation.
Experience in managing Subject access requests.
Proficiency in MS Office, HR information systems and advance use of Excel.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
