About the role
Sunny Steps Psychology and Supervision is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team in Hamilton, NSW. As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive behaviour support services to our diverse client base. This is a full-time position, and you will be based in our modern, well-equipped Hamilton office.
What you'll be doing
Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify the functional causes of challenging behaviours
Developing and implementing tailored behaviour support plans aimed at reducing challenging behaviours and promoting positive outcomes
Providing direct coaching and training to clients, families, and support staff to ensure effective implementation of behaviour support strategies
Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team of psychologists, occupational therapists, and other allied health professionals to deliver holistic care
Documenting progress, updating support plans, and maintaining detailed case notes in accordance with professional and organisational standards
Participating in regular supervision and professional development activities to continuously improve your skills and knowledge
What we're looking for
A tertiary qualification in behavioural science, specifically Applied Behaviour Analysis
Experience in the delivery of behaviour support services and direct care support, preferably in a healthcare or social services setting
Demonstrated expertise in implementing evidence-based behaviour support plans and interventions for services.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, families, and a diverse range of stakeholders
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to adapt your approach to meet the unique needs of each client
Commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices in behaviour support
Ability to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team
