An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialty doctor in Geriatrics at FGH.

The job would be based within the care of the elderly team.

The orthopaedic care at FGH is provided on ward 2- a 24 bedded ward. Patients are admitted and remain under the care of the orthopaedic team with input from the orthogeriatric service which comprises a specialty doctor and nurse practitioner. The post holder would be expected to review patients with fractured neck of femur and organise a medical plan for their care as well as liaise with orthopaedic colleagues and anaesthetic staff.

Communication with family members would be a significant part of the role as well as understanding of frailty and post operative complications in elderly patients.

The Lead Medical Support Assistant (LMSA) in V16 Clinical Resource Hub is assigned to the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System, Little Rock, Arkansas. The LMSA will normally work at the HUB located on 900 South Shackelford Road, Little Rock, AR or remotely.
