About the Role:

We are seeking dedicated and passionate SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Teaching Assistants to join our team in specialist schools across East Sussex. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, ensuring they have equal access to education and opportunities for growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEND, including those with autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
• Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies tailored to the needs of each student.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
• Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their emotional well-being and building their confidence and self-esteem.

Requirements:

What you will be doing

You will join an inclusive, supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with Learning Disabilities and Mental Health conditions. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you will use your excellent communication skills and experience as a Support Worker with a background in Learning Disabilities and Autism to provide care and support people through their care pathway.

You will be working at Ranworth House, a service which provides support for people who may be living with moderate Learning Disabilities, Autism and behaviours that may challenge.

Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you will offer support to people as part of their care pathway. Whether it is moving from their community placement or a family home because they require more structured care and support. In this role you will

• Preferably hold a valid UK driver's licence (to assist with community visits)
• Have strong empathy and a caring and compassionate nature
• Be willing to support residents with personal hygiene
• Have excellent people and communication skills, and a good sense of humour
• Deal with challenging behaviours
• Have a positive and professional approach
• Be reliable, flexible, hard-working and honest
• Be local or within commutable distance

You must live in the UK and have the Right to Work in the UK full time. 20-hour Student and Skilled Worker Visa's cannot be accepted.
