We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated person to join our team. You will be working alongside our experienced qualified staff which consists of the Falls and Fracture Liaison Service Team Lead, a Physiotherapist, a therapy support worker and a Nurse. We also have a Clerical Officer on the team.

As a Therapy Assistant, you will be required to assist our multidisciplinary team in the delivery of treatment of patients, working in their own homes or in residential settings. You will be working without direct supervision undertaking tasks delegated by qualified staff and will be expected to take an active role in co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating individual patient care. Support will be given by our experienced qualified staff.

An ability to travel to different geographical locations across the Trust footprint in line with service needs is essential, and a full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle would be desirable for this community role.

Please note this is NOT a healthcare assistant/support worker role. This is a therapy based role in the community. Therefore, priority will be given to candidates with previous knowledge and experience in a similar role.

To implement treatment programmes to patients in the community who have been assessed initially by qualified staff in the Falls and Fracture Liaison Service.

To take responsibility for an active caseload under the direction of the qualified therapy staff. This will include the treatment of patients in their own homes, clinics, residential and nursing care settings, working as a lone worker.

DUTIES

Location: 23-Bed Rehabilitation Service, Bury St Edmunds
Salary: From £13.00 per hour (PAYE inclusive) + Uplifts for nights and weekends. Please note rates for this role will be paid PAYE we are unable to pay via Limited Company or Umbrella.
Shift Pattern: Flexible shifts to suit your schedule, Long Days and Nights available.

Role Overview: As a Mental Health Healthcare Assistant, you will work across two wards, delivering person-centred care and therapeutic interventions. You'll play a key role in helping residents on their journey towards recovery and independence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide personalised support to women with Personality Disorders, including Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD).
• Implement individualised care plans and therapeutic interventions.
• Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, medication management, and meal preparation.
• Facilitate group activities, therapy sessions, and recreational outings.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and occupational therapists.
• Maintain accurate records of observations and interventions.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in mental health or rehabilitation settings, particularly with Personality Disorders or EUPD, is highly desirable.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to meet scheduled commitments.
• Compassionate, non-judgemental approach to supporting individuals with complex needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to promoting dignity, respect, and autonomy for all residents.
• Car Driver would be beneficial due to service location

Care Assistant (Maternity Cover) based at Epworth Grange, Bury

Available Hours:

Permanent - Full time - 39 hours per week

As a Care Assistant at MHA you will provide the highest quality of care to our residents enabling them to live later life well. Duties will be varied and include supporting our residents with personal care needs and helping them to take part in a wide range of activities that support their health and wellbeing. You don't need any qualifications to get started as a Care Assistant.
