I am currently recruiting for an IT Support Manager for a legal firm to support the IT Helpdesk in both the Leeds and Manchester office. This role will take overall responsibility for delivering IT support services to the Manchester and Leeds offices to achieve clearly stated business goals and performance targets. Responsibilities will include all aspects of day-to- day management, involvement in firm-wide projects and co-ordinating with the teams in other offices to deliver a high standard of IT service consistently across the firm.

Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day delivery of the IT service functions within the Leeds & Manchester offices and ensuring the effective deployment and usage of resources to the firm's users. Working with colleagues across the firm to ensure standards of service are maintained and consistent.

Establish and operate systems to monitor progress, capacity and performance of systems taking corrective action where standards are nearing pre-determined thresholds.

Ensure the necessary processes and procedures are in place to maintain or recover the delivery of systems and services in the event of any physical, technical or environmental disaster or major disruption to normal service.

Represent the Firm at a high level, both externally and internally, formally and informally, to establish the IT support team as a credible business function.

Advise the Firm's users and management regarding the delivery, cost, availability and functionality of services and systems and develop an effective partnership with suppliers and users.

Be approachable and available to staff and colleagues alike.

Responsible for assigned technical development projects and ensuring these projects are completed within planned timescales and resource estimates.

In cooperation with the Director of IT and the IT services manager, be responsible for all aspects of managing the Manchester and Leeds IT support team including:

Training new and temporary staff by designing induction programmes and monitoring progress.

Ensuring adequate staff cover during holidays, sickness, lunch breaks and absence.

Conducting annual performance review meetings, ensuring staff are aware of the standard of work required and monitor performance, as required.

Training and developing staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to meet job and department objectives.

Attending any meetings or training sessions as required

Carrying out any further duties as required by the Director of IT or IT services manager

Experience needed

Previous knowledge of legal applications e.g. document management systems, customer relationship management systems, practice management systems, digital dictation and case / matter management

Excellent working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft operating systems, server and client, Microsoft 365, Intune (MDM)

Experience supporting modern workplace technologies such as AV and Room booking systems

Good understanding of user hardware (user devices - laptops, mobiles) and working styles

Previous supervisory experience and ability to delegate tasks effectively

In these cases, the post holder will be equipped with tools (eg accessing interpreting services on an ipad) to support communication. SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS i) PHYSICAL EFFORT: There is a frequent requirement to undertake moderate physical effort during each shift e.g. assistance with patients personal care. This post requires manual dexterity (for tasks such as venepuncture and cannulation), hand eye co-ordination, and frequent moving and handling of patients and equipment with trained knowledge, including equipment to support this. The post holder will be required to stand for periods of up to an hour (undertaking maternal observations and patient support, for example), and frequent walking will be required during the course of their shift. They may also be required to sit, kneel or crouch to attend to patient needs. In emergency situations, the post holder may be asked to collect equipment or resources from another ward area as quickly as possible. Moving and handling of patients and equipment is likely to happen on a daily basis: Patients - with lifting aids, and as a team where necessary (weight 1-200kg) Equipment - medical equipment, specialised mattresses (weight 1-20kg). ii) MENTAL EFFORT: There is a requirement for periods of concentration during a shift (likely to be between 8-12.5 hours long), though work pattern should largely be predictable. The post holder may have to change tasks at the midwifes request in response to emergency situations or changing workload demands, including prioritising tasks as appropriate to the work environment. There is a responsibility to notice and react to concerns for a patients wellbeing or deteriorating condition. The post holder will use IT systems and periods of concentration and time (up to one hour at a time) spent using display screen equipment will be required. iii) EMOTIONAL EFFORT: The post holder may provide emotional and psychological support to women during pregnancy, labour and postpartum. The post holder may be required to participate in the care and support of women following a pregnancy loss. Exposure to obstetric emergencies and distressing situations may occur. These may include death and dying, as well as distressed patients, relatives or carers. iv) WORKING CONDITIONS: The post holder will frequently be involved in the joys and complexities of childbirth which can include direct contact with blood and bodily fluids. Ability to work within a busy and fast-paced environment, completing tasks in a timely manner to contribute to the smooth running of the area is required. We are currently seeking an Application Support Analyst to join our team supporting local authorities in utilising Liquidlogic's market leading Education and Social Services and Case Management software.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for 2nd and 3rd line support functions as part of the Application Support team.
• Investigate, analyse and problem-solve Incidents raised via our Incident Management System, Jira.
• Use application log files, SQL and other diagnostic tools and methodologies to resolve issues, including data issues, coding issues and reviewing application and Windows/SQL logs to identify the cause.
• Liaise with Problem Management, Development and Product teams as well as Third Party subcontractors when required.
• Replicating persistent issues in the applications, using local test systems to identify potential bugs to be logged with Development for fix.
• Communicate with customers regularly over issues and problems that they encounter.
• Take ownership of allocated customers and be their named dedicated engineer ensuring that Incidents are managed and resolved within agreed Service Level Agreements.
• Support customers on our own hosted servers as well as on-premises servers.

Skills and Experience:

This is a customer facing role which requires good interpersonal skills, technical understanding, and the ability to work as part of a team but also demonstrates initiative when working alone. This is together with the skills outlined below:
