Major Duties include:

• Involves construction, alterations, installation, repair, and modification of items and structures such as roofing, framework, rafters, concrete forms, walls, doors, finished paneling, window frames, interior and exterior trims, staircases, trusses, beams, flooring, and miscellaneous items such as workbenches, countertops, bookcases, equipment cabinets, and computer consoles where accuracy, spacing, and fit are essential and structural soundness and appearance are important.- Constructs, rehabilitates, modifies, and assembles from blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions, structures such as framework, rafters, doors, finished paneling, windows, interior and exterior trims, staircases, trusses and beams, small buildings, building interior finishing, etc., where accuracy and spacing are essential and require journeyman level skills and abilities.
• Repairs doors and windows, wood substitute items, exterior siding, flooring and interior fabric as necessary in the course of stabilization/restoration and to ensure completeness and structural integrity. Repairs roof sheathing and rafters as required.
• Fabricates duplicate replacements of deteriorated wood members such as moldings, beams, timbers, and stairways. Construction of difficult angle and curved cuts must be exact. Must be able to improvise with materials and supplies available because distance from supplier. Performs manual tasks such as loading and unloading supplies.
• Performs various log replacement and repair techniques which involve splicing and notching of logs using hand tools and power tools such as draw knife, slick, chisels, gouges, adze, hatchet, ax, chainsaw, grinder, scribes, beetle, and drills. Makes sure that all repairs or replacements are done in accordance with the Secretary of the Interiors Standards for Treatment of Historic Properties.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Performs regular wilderness and backcountry patrols as a trainee or under the direction of other wilderness rangers ranging from day trips to multi-day overnight camping trips, via foot. Routine backcountry patrol duties and responsibilities include: collecting inventory and monitoring data and evaluations, patrol reports, visitor contacts, routine trail maintenance, and inspection, inventory, and repair of backcountry facilities (campgrounds, pit toilets, and patrol cabins). Incumbent will be expected to assist with search and rescue (SAR) operations and perform emergency medical services (EMS) as needed.
• Assisting other wilderness rangers as a trainee with various projects in the backcountry in each district as needs arise. Examples would include evaluation and rehabilitation of campsite facilities, pit toilets, and/or trail infrastructure. Other duties include vegetation monitoring, wilderness character monitoring, campsite evaluations, and backcountry resource impacts.
• Assisting with field implementation of the Wilderness Implementation Schedule (WIS) as a student trainee, which are the strategies for managing the wilderness and backcountry park wide. Assist with wilderness character monitoring using Glacier's wilderness character monitoring format.
• As a trainee monitoring bear activity and participating in bear management training and entering data into the Bear Management Inventory and Monitoring System (BIMS). May also participate in other park training in EMS, SAR, and Backcountry Operations as a trainee.
• Become trained in Leave No Trace outdoor ethics and be able to demonstrate and explain to visitors.

Major duties for this position include but are not to:

• Serves as VIP initial contact point and supervisor of wilderness volunteers, river volunteers, preventative search and rescue volunteers (PSAR), and bike volunteers.
• Serves as a contact for the organization and in coordinating with volunteers and partners on the volunteer program administrative

• Schedules and trains volunteers and provides technical support and training for wilderness and river related projects.

• Receptionist duties include: receive phone calls and assess the patient's need for routine, urgent and emergent appointments with appropriate providers and clinic; answer inquired of a general nature by; nursing staff, physician staff, other departments, visitors, and patients, assist them in a friendly and cooperative manner; receive and relay messages to personnel on units and use proper telephone etiquette.

• The Social Work Program Coordinator for CC\ICM will implement standardized tools designed to integrate care to create a seamless continuum experience for the Veteran.

Monitors a variety of limited operational projects to address technical fire management problems. Ensures the smoke management program complies with state air quality standards.
