The Service:
The School Attendance Team delivers the Council's statutory requirements for school attendance, elective home education, child employment and entertainment, and children missing education. Its primary role is to improve attendance across the city and ensure all its legal obligations are met.
Your New Role:
You will effectively assist in the discharge of the Local Authority's statutory functions relating to school attendance, child employment and entertainment and children missing education. You will register and issue Penalty Notices, record progress on databases, and assist in the co-ordination of Fast Track Panels. You will provide administrative assistance and support with a variety of tasks relating to statutory processes undertaken by the school attendance team, including child work permits, child performance licences, chaperone licences, processing pupils who are electively home educated, migrating pupils and children missing education. You will manage database and E-file systems and deal with general telephone enquiries.

What you'll need to succeed:
You have experience of working in an administrative role, and an excellent standard of literacy with the ability to compose correspondence to a high and professional standard. You can produce, process and analyse a wide range of data, and have in-depth experience of using Excel, Word, Outlook and Access. You have Database experience and excellent IT skills. You have good communication skills, an excellent eye for detail, and can work under pressure and under direction or own initiative. You have experience in notetaking and organising meetings, and dealing with confidentiality and data protection.
