Pay £11.51 per hour (Salary £22,500 per year) with great benefits including Health Cash Plan
A full UK Driving License is beneficial but not essential for this role.

As our Support Coordinator, you’ll be at the heart of supporting our customers who have complex mental health and/or dual diagnosis needs to develop their skills to live more independently in the community. We have opportunities to work in our community and floating support service which we call STEP (Supporting Tenancies, Enabling People) with our customers who live in a community-based setting in the Sunderland and Washington area.
Typical day as a Support Coordinator
- Assisting customers with practical, daily living tasks to develop their independence, helping them to achieve the goals, aspirations and outcomes documented in their support plans but we don’t deliver personal care.
- We also support our customers to get out and about in the community, whether this be a walk along the beach, a trip to the supermarket or accessing a local group.
- We support our customers to maintain their well-being. They might need help organising/ attending important appointments so that’s where you will help support them with this.
- Working with our colleagues and external agencies to assess and engage support for our customers.
- Excellent record keeping- ensuring out customer notes are kept up to date.
- Cuppas, chats and catch ups. There’s no rushing from one customer to the next here! Plenty of time to work together with colleagues too.

You bring
- Passion to support our customers to live their best life, working together with an eye for detail.
- Experience of caring for others, you may have worked in care before or have experience of caring for others such as family members or children.
- Experience of working on own initiative, remaining calm under pressure, and having a resilient approach.
- Recognise every customer is different and you’re able to adopt a flexible, personal approach, listening to customers to understand their needs.
- As this is a community-based role, it would be beneficial if you are able to drive, as well as having access to a car insured for business purposes (we pay your expenses to cover this use).

You’ll join Danielle and our Sunderland STEP team, we’re super passionate about what we do! There are 4 of us in the team as we are just starting out. We might be small, but we are mighty!
Job details
- You’ll work on a rota basis Monday to Sunday 08:00 am and 20:00 pm however, flexibility is key and will be dependent on our customer support hours
- Customers will be supported in one of our brilliant independent supported living properties within the community or their own home across mainly Sunderland with some support based in Washington.
- We also provide community-based support to our customers to improve independent living skills and wellbeing.
- Although you’ll lone work, we do get together regularly for training and team meetings.
- Able to use technology to update support plans, complete online learning and to collaborate with colleagues.
- You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check; we pay for this.
