The Digital Transformation Team are responsible for the development and effective management of emerging technology, overseeing the ordering and allocation of IT new trial equipment, supporting the implementation of the Digital Strategy, and providing accurate timely statistical information. Creating effective relationships with stakeholders and technology partners to improve service provision where IT is the enabler.

As a Corporate Apprentice you will be supported in the workplace to develop the skills you need to make an effective contribution to our Service. In this Corporate Apprentice (Level 3) role you will learn:

To support your development, you will also undertake a Welsh Government Apprenticeship Framework Qualification in Digital Skills for Business at Level 3 in the role and will receive on the job training and supervision to help you deliver an efficient and effective service in a positive and customer focussed manner. You will also be supported by a named mentor who will encourage you to develop a range of transferrable skills to support your career progression.

Many of our teams work online with a mix of home or hybrid (office) working. Where homeworking is required, you will be given the necessary equipment and training, however, you will need to arrange your own internet connectivity (support may be available to help with this).
The Business & Project Support Team provide a wide variety of support to teams across the Adults, Housing & Communities directorate ranging from financial assistance, to arranging and taking meetings, to ad-hoc project support.
• Gain experience of working in a Project Management environment including attending /shadowing meetings to gain project management experience and background
• Undertake a range of project support tasks as needed eg assisting with the production of documents, document updates, low level business analysis and production of charts or information for reports etc.
• Use of our financial monitoring software (SAP) to assist the team to raise invoices and Purchase Orders.
• Arranging project meetings or meetings for senior management.
• Creating a record of meeting discussions eg drafting Minutes of Meeting

The Energy & Sustainability team (part of the One Planet Cardiff team) engages and works with a network of staff across the council working to tackle the impacts and causes of climate change, both in relation to the Council as a business and the wider city. This role will support the team with carbon reporting and data presentation for the Council and individual Directorates within and for the city of Cardiff.
Assist with collating, maintaining, analysing data and creating charts in relation to support carbon data reporting using relevant software eg Excel, PowerBi, Microsoft Office applications and bespoke Council systems.
Support the team with tasks to ensure the accurate and prompt recording and handling of data for the organisation as a whole, individual Directorates e.g. energy, fleet, procurement emissions data and the City of Cardiff.
Assist the team deliver a range of carbon reporting related administration and business support tasks including meeting organisation and administration, maintenance of records and provision of data.

About this Apprenticeship

WJEC are looking for a highly organised individual with a good eye for detail and passion for administration to come and join our Business Development team as a Business Development Administrator Apprentice.

Apprenticeships offer the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills through on-the-job training, working alongside experienced professionals.
