This role will support Professor Louise Dye to conduct a programme of research within this platform which seeks to understand and ensure equitable access to breakfast provision and intake in children and adolescents across the Island of Ireland. This research will support the transition to HDSS and address micronutrient deficiencies.

We are looking to recruit a suitably qualified Learning Support Assistant to join our team. You will work as part of our team, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, SENCO, Deputy SENCO and Learning Managers providing support for students, teachers and the UTC in order to raise standards of achievement for all our students working with small groups of students or in classrooms across the UTC.

We are currently seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team. As an integral part of our inclusive school community, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs to achieve their full potential.

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN.
• Assist the class teacher in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs).
• Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
• Support students in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure the holistic development of each student.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with diverse needs.
• Ability to adapt to different learning styles and individual requirements.
