Your new role
You will be joining a prestigious research group working with some of the leading scientists in the genetics field carrying out research work to identify new approaches to tackle cancer.
Main responsibilities will include:

• Lead innovative research in molecular biology to uncover fundamental mechanisms related to genetic and protein functions in cancer.
• Investigate interactions between modified bases and proteins, focusing on their impact on genome functions like transcription and chromatin organisation.
• Develop new techniques to study the dynamics of modified bases and their binding proteins, utilising chemical and genetic approaches.
• Analyse genetic/genomic and other omics data sets to provide insights and use these to design future experiments.
• Explore genetic targets for synthetic lethality opportunities in cancer.
• Manage your own research projects while collaborating with others, ensuring meticulous record-keeping and resource management.
• Share your findings through presentations and publications, and help to mentor PhD students.

What you'll need to succeed
As well as strong communication and organisational skills, you should have:

• A PhD (or be nearing completion) in molecular biology, biochemistry, cancer genomics, or related fields, or significant equivalent experience
• Proficiency in molecular biology techniques, including RNA/DNA analysis, PCR, protein analysis, and western blotting.
• Advanced cloning skills, with experience in genetic engineering, vector construction, and CRISPR/Cas9 systems.
• Expertise in recombinant protein design and expression, utilising systems like E. coli, along with purification methods such as FPLC and mass spectrometry.
• Familiarity with genomic technologies like ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, and single-cell methods, preferably within oncology research, though this is not essential.

It would be an advantage to have good data analysis skills and experience using programming / scripting languages such as Python and/or R, along with tools like MATLAB and Bioconductor, however training can be provided.

As the Senior Trainer, you will be part of a team of trainers in the TV and Audio division, reporting to the Training Team Manager. You will be responsible for delivering memorable and impactful training to both Internal and External partners across a range of environments including classroom, in-store, roadshows, events and live streaming via live online broadcasting.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Research Scientist in Immunopeptidomics to join our research programme based at the Oxford Centre for Immuno-Oncology in the Nuffield Department of Medicine.

The research programme is dedicated to unravelling the molecular architecture of immune responses in tumour tissues. In this role, your primary objective will involve profiling the immunopeptidomes of individual patients using LC-MS/MS techniques and to map the tumour-antigen landscape across large patient cohorts.

The key responsibilities of this role include managing the LC-MS facility to ensure operational instrumentation and support for specialized Immunopeptidomics applications. You will, lead the generation of proteomic and Immunopeptidomics datasets from cells and primary mammalian tissue samples using LC-MS/MS platforms, providing high-quality data to academic partners and industrial sponsors, Additionally, you will manage your own academic research and administrative activities co-ordinating multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.

It is essential that you hold a relevant PhD/DPhil in Biochemistry, Immunology or a related subject with post-qualification research experience. You will have hands-on experience with LC-MS/MS instruments (Thermo and/or Bruker), together with experience applying a range of proteomics methods to biomedical research questions, including proficiency in DDA, DIA, PRM methods and analysis (e.g. Peaks, MS fragger, MaxQuant, and Skyline). You will have excellent communication and interactive skills and a strong collaborative attitude. Finally, you will have a proven ability to contribute to multiple projects simultaneously with learning agility and scientific rigor.

An opportunity has arisen for two motivated Lecturers/Senior Lecturers in Occupational Therapy (OT) to join our team at Oxford Brookes.

Located within the Department for Sport, Health Science and Social Work, we provide pre-registration OT programmes at BSc and MSc degree levels. The Occupational Therapy programmes are primarily delivered in the healthcare teaching facilities at the Marston Road site of the University, offering state-of-the art simulation skills labs and teaching facilities, and close to local clinical and research sites of excellence.

We would expect our new Lecturers/Senior Lecturers to undertake academic and academic-related responsibilities in the delivery of high quality Occupational Therapy. The successful candidate will contribute to the teaching and supervision of student research projects at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the management, scholarly activity and developmental ambitions of the department, taking responsibility for a programme role as required.

The post holder must have a pre-registration degree in Occupational Therapy or a relevant equivalent, and a postgraduate degree in a health and social care related subject or be studying for one. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Research Software Engineers to join the newly established Competency Centre for Cloud Computing and AI/ML, which is part of the University’s Digital Transformation. The aim of the Competency Centre is to provide a centralised expertise on the use of public cloud computing for research applications, particularly in the context of contemporary AI/ML approaches.

Working across the university you will provide centralised expertise working with researchers with diverse research questions who require access to cloud computing capabilities. This will require significant software engineering experience and also hands-on experience of using public cloud infrastructure at different scales. Many of the use-cases will require the implementation of AI/ML methods and you will work closely with the OxRSE team to identify opportunities and pull together innovative software solutions. To be successful in this role, you will hold a PhD/DPhil with a significant computational component, with post-qualification research experience or equivalent experience in a similar role. You will have a strong track record of the use of public cloud service providers (e.g. GCP, AWS, Azure, Oracle etc.), and have significant experience with one programming language used for research (e.g. Python, C++, C, Matlab, R, Java, Javascript, Fortran, Rust). It is important that you have excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate with researchers, write for publication, present research proposals and results, and represent the group at meetings, and be able to work collaboratively and as part of a team.
