This is a Multi-Site Role covering two of our fantastic services here at Salutem - Mount View and New Road both sites are within a 5 minute drive from one another so a driver with a full, clean UK Licence will be required. Time in the working week will be spilt over both sites!

Assures that the training center continuously meets the standards prescribed by the applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), agency orders, and directives and assures compliance in all aspects of training through the use of a planned surveillance and inspection program on a continuing basis.

As the team lead, determines through surveillance and investigation that the training center is adequately staffed with appropriately qualified instructors and TCEs. Monitors TCEs to determine adequacy and quality of approved training programs. Conducts initial and annual training and designation of all assigned evaluators. Reviews flight training equipment discrepancy logs to assure compliance with established criteria. Assists the National Simulator Program Manager in initial and recurring qualifications of flight simulators and selected flight training devices.

Coordinates with Principal Operations Inspectors throughout the FAA who are assigned air carrier operators using the training center to ensure proper application of training programs for the particular air carrier involved. Coordinates with training center management regarding regulatory changes, FAA policy matters, and updated training requirements as needed. Coordinates and conducts various surveillance and certification activities, as appropriate, with other FAA district office inspectors. Provides technical oversight to assigned Fleet Training Program Managers.

Initiates and/or assists in the emergency suspension of airmen certificates. Conducts enforcement investigations and prepares final reports in those cases requiring legal disposition. Provides technical assistance to legal counsel, testifies at court trials and formal hearings, and gives depositions.

Reviews and submits with recommendations, training center certificate applications, training center curriculum, and associated revisions. Recommends amendments to previously approved programs when contrary to existing regulatory requirements, to eliminate unsafe practices or to improve the specificity of instruction. Determines appropriate methods and/or plans for securing corrective action, when needed, and conducts follow-up inspections to insure that appropriate action has been taken.

Recommends the designation of training center evaluators for types of aircraft and simulators operated by the training center. Examines and trains training center evaluators for initial designation, recertification and standardization actions as necessary. Conducts practical tests for certification and ratings. Conducts reexamination of certificated airmen when it is determined that they do not meet the minimum standards required for the certificate they hold. Approves flight simulators and flight training devices for each maneuver, procedure, crewmember function, circling approach, and runway scene to be used in an approved training program.

Develops and conducts a surveillance program for all training center activities. Monitors flight crew training programs conducted by the training center to ensure compliance with the FAR, national and regional directives, and safe operating practices. Monitors TCEs during the conduct of airman certification and recurring evaluations to insure strict compliance with established standards.

Conducts hands-on evaluation of flight training devices to determine that they continue to meet original specifications in accordance with guidance provided in the appropriate Advisory Circulars. Reviews applications for initial evaluation or upgrade evaluation of flight simulators, including the Approval Test Guide. After determining compliance with guidance in the appropriate Advisory Circular, and compatibility with training programs submitted or approved, forwards the application package to the NSPM. Reviews the training center discrepancy logs for discrepancies that would affect the capabilities of the flight training equipment.

• Serve as a leadership Training Specialist, responsible for the development of viable USAJFKSWCS leadership training products, materials, and programs for the ARSOF.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for resident training options and instructional delivery modes, including distance learning for professional development at all levels (WO, NCO and officer).
• Exercise an in-depth practical knowledge of program objectives and policies and regulations.
• Identify and solve systematic leadership training problems or shortfalls by maintaining a continuing dialog with regional planners, i.e. US Army Special Operations Command (USASOC), and Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC).

- Leads a team of trades and/or labor workers. On a regular and recurring basis, utilizes trades and/or labor knowledge and skill to lead a team of three or more workers in performance of various related work. Performs work. Performs non-supervisory trades and/or labor work that is usually of the same kind and level as members of the work crew led.

- Performs GMV Training and Certification within the Training, Validation Office (TVO) and leads other military and civilians performing training. Trains newly assigned military vehicle operators on a wide range of vehicles to include buses, tractor trailer, forklifts, wrecker/recovery vehicles, passenger vans/buses ranging from 12 passengers to 55 passengers.

- Administers Installation GMV Licensing Function and Installation Vehicle Misuse Program. Performs Operator Records and Licensing functions within the TVO office issuing and updating GMV licenses for personnel across JBSA.

- Drives buses, tractor trailers and/or other vehicles typically having a GVW of more than 32,000 pounds to include wrecker/recovery vehicles, and one or more electric, LPG, or diesel-powered forklift trucks to facilitate loading and unloading duties. May be required to transport bulky and unwieldy items.

- Maintains records and documents actions. Properly completes operator/customer inspections checklists, forms and accident/incident reports as required.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Bart’s Health based primarily at our Royal London and St Bartholomews Hospital sites for the role of Medical Education Manager (12 months Maternity Cover). The role involves working closely with the Director of Medical Education (DME),Deputy Directors of Medical Education ( DDME’s) Education Leads and the Education Academy Senior Team to ensure the Trust meets its contractual requirements and maintains a supportive learning environment for medical students and doctors in training. Main duties and responsibilities

Working in conjunction with colleagues across the Trust to ensure the induction programme is delivered effectively and efficiently and that compliance with the Trust Statutory and Mandatory policy is appropriately recorded. To work with the Divisions to identify local leads with a responsibility to deliver local Induction for all junior medical staff.
To manage the relationships with internal personnel associated with the training of medical students and postgraduate doctors; this includes the College Tutors, Divisional Managers, Educational Supervisors and Clinical Supervisors and Clinical Leads.

To manage the relationships with external personnel associated with the training of medical students and postgraduate doctors; this includes the Commissioners, the Foundation School, Royal Colleges, the GMC and the providers of commissioned programmes.

To manage appropriate points of contact and support for medical students and postgraduate doctors which are clearly signposted. To deal with sensitive and confidential information and queries/issues in a timely and effective manner to improve situations which impact of the trainees/students learning.

The post holder will need to respond in a professional, and timely manner, to requests which come from the Education Academy Senior Team.

Staff Management and Leadership

To provide supervision and line management of the administrative staff at the site – including overall supervision, quality and performance, leave, appraisal and personal development and disciplinary matters.

The post holder will ensure all aspects of the Department run efficiently and effectively, including participation in the recruitment, selection and induction of the Administration staff, including temporary cover.

To manage the training and development of staff to ensure that cover is available for all areas; liaising with the other site MEMs and the Education Academy Team to enable cross site cover as and when required.

Educational Governance

Working closely with the DME and Risk Managers ensure that SI reporting is appropriately recorded at a Trust level and to the Postgraduate Dean.
Responsible for ensuring all training posts are notified of working with the Educational Leads ensure that the Trust maintains a high level of response rate to the GMC National Surveys. Responsible for circulation of the GMC NTS results and working with the Educational Leads and trainee to put together appropriate SMART action plans.

To ensure the Site supports the quality assurance processes of the Commissioners, including Annual Quality Visits, regulatory visits and visits of concern and any follow up action as required.

Responsible for managing and maintaining a database for all trainers on site and to liaise with appropriate teams for updates and reports as required. Working closely with the DME to ensure the site meets the requirements of the GMC Standard for Recognition and Accreditation of Trainers.

In liaison with the Education Academy Team and DME to provide training activities for faculty development, ensuring that external training provision is made available to faculty.

Meetings and committees

The post holder is responsible for ensuring the effective management of the annual programme of meetings, including timely distribution of papers.

To attend the MEM Senior Team Meetings and ensure regular local team meetings take place in order to disseminate information and pick up questions from the team.

Where appropriate to represent the Trust at external meeting and groups and to bring back key messages for dissemination to the wider team.


Responsibility for Patient care

Overall there will only be occasional incidental contact with patients, except when supporting the clinical teaching examinations for students and postgraduate doctors, which may involve patients.


Physical and Financial Resources

Manage the budget allocation for the Site and medical education programme activity, ensuring that suitable education and training resources and facilities are available to deliver the programmes


General Responsibilities

The Key Responsibilities include:

Provide a key support role to the course directors and Senior Education and Learning Manager in the course design process and preparing programme and course outlines for each course.

Actively champion the Judicial Institute educational philosophy and the Education Strategy, internally (with the team and senior managers) and externally (with course contributors), and support senior managers to implement them and to deliver on strategic goals.

Be responsible for preparing and testing all learning tools and activities and become a power user of a suite of learning technologies.

Be the lead onsite learning support for courses which includes:

*attendance, virtual or in person, at all courses assigned to you
in-course support for all the Learning Suite facilities and the course contributors themselves.

*on-the-day course schedule and materials management
liaison with on-the-day event management support as required.

You will be the central manager of course workflows and relationships by ensuring all roles are appropriately coordinated and course related matters are dealt with in a timely, flexible and efficient manner. This will involve working in complex, multilateral work dynamics including:

*supporting Course Directors and the Senior Education and Learning Manager in relation to course design and planning, delivery and evaluation;

*liaising with the Operations Manager in relation to the pre-course and on the day event management matters;

*commissioning Legal Assistants to conduct legal research pertaining to specific courses;

*delegating to Course Officers in relation to course administration;

*liaising with digital education and learning colleagues in relation to digital enhancements to face-to-face courses;

*working with the Legal and Secretariat Manager on the development of online resource kits.

You will be expected to lead the course debriefing process, facilitating a 360’ evaluation of the course and highlighting areas of improvement for future course iterations.

Schedule and take responsibility for the upload of Learning Materials pertaining to courses to the digital repository and the Judicial Hub.

Take the lead on establishing on-going relationships with course contributors, ensuring that contributions are underpinned by our educational philosophy.

Establish and build a network of effective communications and working relationships with other divisions of SCTS.

Take initiative in anticipating and responding to course-related problems.

Develop a standardised format for course frameworks and materials with particular focus on quality and consistency of presentation.

You will have direct line management responsibility for one Project Support Officer (EO) post.

Main duties and responsibilities Responsible for the overall co-ordination of the medical education programmes at the site, including undergraduate, postgraduate and faculty development. To manage the local delivery of the medical education programmes ensuring that the resources available are fully utilised in the provision of the medical education programmes. To manage and maintain systems and processes for effective, efficient and accurate record keeping for all areas of responsibility and to capture measurable activity which is in line with the commissioners/regulators requirements. To ensure processes are in place to capture records of attendance, and evaluation, and reporting into the appropriate educational governance structures. Collate and produce reports on areas of responsibility as required by the DME and Education Academy Senior Team. Working closely with the Director/Deputy Director of Medical Education (DME/DDME), the Foundation Programme Training Directors (FTPD), Undergraduate Dean and the Education Academy to ensure trainees and students are supported during their time with the Trust and they are aware of the Medical Education Team and the services provided. To review, interpret and implement policies, procedures and protocols to ensure good practice for the delivery of medical education; provide specialist knowledge to the Site team and wider faculty. Assist in work streams and project implementation including monitoring, evaluation and adjustment of protocols and procedures and as directed. Work closely with the other site MEMs, sharing good practice and lessons learnt to develop Medical Education across the Trust. To develop networks with other MEMs, external to the Trust, to seek ideas for innovation, overcome challenges and share good practice.Responsible for ensuring the Induction of the medical students and postgraduate medical staff and that the Trust policy is adhered to. Working in conjunction with colleagues across the Trust to ensure the induction programme is delivered effectively and efficiently and that compliance with the Trust Statutory and Mandatory policy is appropriately recorded. To work with the Divisions to identify local leads with a responsibility to deliver local Induction for all junior medical staff.To manage the relationships with internal personnel associated with the training of medical students and postgraduate doctors; this includes the College Tutors, Divisional Managers, Educational Supervisors and Clinical Supervisors and Clinical Leads. To manage the relationships with external personnel associated with the training of medical students and postgraduate doctors; this includes the Commissioners, the Foundation School, Royal Colleges, the GMC and the providers of commissioned programmes. To manage appropriate points of contact and support for medical students and postgraduate doctors which are clearly signposted. To deal with sensitive and confidential information and queries/issues in a timely and effective manner to improve situations which impact of the trainees/students learning. The post holder will need to respond in a professional, and timely manner, to requests which come from the Education Academy Senior Team. Staff Management and Leadership To provide supervision and line management of the administrative staff at the site including overall supervision, quality and performance, leave, appraisal and personal development and disciplinary matters. The post holder will ensure all aspects of the Department run efficiently and effectively, including participation in the recruitment, selection and induction of the Administration staff, including temporary cover. To manage the training and development of staff to ensure that cover is available for all areas; liaising with the other site MEMs and the Education Academy Team to enable cross site cover as and when required. Educational Governance Working closely with the DME and Risk Managers ensure that SI reporting is appropriately recorded at a Trust level and to the Postgraduate Dean.Responsible for ensuring all training posts are notified of working with the Educational Leads ensure that the Trust maintains a high level of response rate to the GMC National Surveys. Responsible for circulation of the GMC NTS results and working with the Educational Leads and trainee to put together appropriate SMART action plans. To ensure the Site supports the quality assurance processes of the Commissioners, including Annual Quality Visits, regulatory visits and visits of concern and any follow up action as required. Responsible for managing and maintaining a database for all trainers on site and to liaise with appropriate teams for updates and reports as required. Working closely with the DME to ensure the site meets the requirements of the GMC Standard for Recognition and Accreditation of Trainers. In liaison with the Education Academy Team and DME to provide training activities for faculty development, ensuring that external training provision is made available to faculty. Meetings and committees The post holder is responsible for ensuring the effective management of the annual programme of meetings, including timely distribution of papers. To attend the MEM Senior Team Meetings and ensure regular local team meetings take place in order to disseminate information and pick up questions from the team. Where appropriate to represent the Trust at external meeting and groups and to bring back key messages for dissemination to the wider team. Responsibility for Patient care Overall there will only be occasional incidental contact with patients, except when supporting the clinical teaching examinations for students and postgraduate doctors, which may involve patients. Physical and Financial Resources Manage the budget allocation for the Site and medical education programme activity, ensuring that suitable education and training resources and facilities are available to deliver the programmes General Responsibilities Guided by standard procedures, good practice and understands the standards and results that are to be achieved. The post holder is required to manage and prioritise their own workload working with minimal supervision and using own initiative. In liaison with colleagues in medical education across the Trust to deliver the requirements of the role; where required to provide cover as necessary for colleagues in the department for leave and sick and when pressure of work requires. The post holder will be required to provide a high-quality resource of professional advice, guidance and expertise to members of the Individual Care Team, ICB and wider health and social care economy Autonomously manage a case load of individuals with highly complex health needs providing significant clinical guidance to providers. Ensure that all assessments are holistic in nature and utilise The National Framework for NHS Continuing Health Care. To have an expert level of knowledge regards The National Framework and its application in practice. To be able to impart this knowledge to a variety of audiences. To provide complex and sensitive information to patients, relatives/ representatives and often work in potentially hostile environments; relaying difficult decisions regarding care provision and managing patient and family expectations. Identify and process any safeguarding and quality of care issues and take appropriate action to ensure that peoples welfare is protected and that the quality and standard of services provided are at a level that is in line with ICB required standards. Robins Way School is proposed to open in June 2025, but we are looking for a Headteacher who can start January 2025 (negotiable) to lead and develop the school throughout its development.
