The Role

As a Field Research Manager, you will be responsible for managing and growing a team of full-time researchers capturing data that supports CoStar Group products.  CoStar Group researchers collect data, research, and imagery on assigned commercial properties to capture the features and highlights of each building.  CoStar Group customers rely on our team to offer content that drives real estate transactions.  As a Field Research Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that researchers are always meeting both production and quality standards.  Meeting deadlines for our internal clients is a critical part of your responsibilities.  Working in the field with each of your researchers throughout the month to ensure best practices are implemented and provide coaching and mentoring is required. This role will be based in market.

Responsibilities:

• Build, train, mentor, and coach a growing team of 8-10 professional field researchers.
• Daily review of the team’s production measured against KPI metrics.
• Spend quality time in the field with local and regional team members to demonstrate best practice with data collection, time management and overall efficiency.
• Review incoming data and imagery to determine its quality relative to standards and guidelines.
• Provide constructive and actionable feedback to team members to meet both production and quality expectations.
• Create action plans to help team members grow, succeed, and maintain their engagement.
• Professional and effective communication with employees and internal partners to meet company objectives.
• Frequent travel within your region, and some travel to the Richmond, VA office is required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited, not-for-profit University or College
• 3-5 years’ direct operations management of 6+ employees, virtual management a plus
• Leadership and management skills, including the ability to prioritize and control the workload of a team, coaching, and mentoring through professional development.
• Experience with creating and managing effective KPIs, along with meeting performance metrics and being results-oriented.

• Ability to work in a collaborative setting.
• Success in building strong, cohesive teams by leading and motivating towards action/execution through influence and collaboration.
• Ability to articulate and execute corporate strategy, well-communicated with the ability to influence.
• Experience and demonstrated proficiency with Excel that includes the ability to manipulate data, filter, and develop basic formulas.
• Creative problem solving, attention to detail, objectivity, and the ability to think strategically.
• Analytical approach with the ability to interpret information and trends, adapting quickly.
• Ability to interact at all levels and establish rapport with internal stakeholders.
• The ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts such as commercial real estate terminology, mapping, and GIS concepts. 
• Field experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications including PowerPoint, along with Apple OS and other Internet applications.

We are looking for a Manager, Machine Learning to join our group and drive the delivery of Machine Learning solutions for Homes.com and CoStar. This role will collaborate closely with other technical leadership, product owners and engineers, while also giving you independence and ownership of your work. As a senior member of the group, you will have the opportunity to drive the technical strategy and architecture of our platform.

This position is located in Irvine, CA and offers a hybrid schedule of 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leading a team in the development and operation of Machine Learning solutions for Homes.com and CoStar products.

• Partnering with other engineering teams, product owners, and leadership on shipping great Machine Learning solutions.

• Taking full ownership of your team’s work, from development and testing to eventual deployment and operation in production.

• Recruiting, leading, and mentoring a high-performing team.

• Influencing the technical strategy of our Machine Learning solutions.

• Providing hands-on technical guidance to your team.

• 8+ years of experience with applied machine learning engineering.

• 8+ years of programming experience in Python, C#, Java, or Scala.

• Real world experience with Recommendation, Computer Vision, or Text Mining systems.

• Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms, model training, and evaluation.

• Experience with large-scale data pipelines.

• Experience collaborating with business and product leaders to solve open-ended problems using Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science.

• Ability to build and grow a high-performance software development team.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong math and analytical skills.

• PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Experience with databases, such as DynamoDB, AWS RDS, or SQL Server.

• Experience solving streaming and batch data processing problems at scale.

• Experience with ML cloud tools such as Databricks, AWS Personalize, Rekognition.

• Exposure to Large Language Models (LLM) and Generative AI.

Position Summary

• Pfizer Oncology is seeking a highly motivated Research Project Manager (RPM) to join the Research Project Management team under Portfolio Strategy & Scientific Operations department within Pfizer’s Oncology Research Unit (ORU).

• The RPM will partner with discovery stage Research Project Leaders (RPL) and Nonclinical Project Leaders to develop Discovery project strategy towards selecting drug a candidate and preparing for IND submission. In collaboration with Non-clinical Project Leaders, the RPM continues driving implementation of non-clinical pharmacology activities through registration.

• The RPMs will be responsible for keeping project information (e.g., goals, milestones, governance) up-to-date in Oncodash by working together with Research Project Leaders and Nonclinical Project Leaders.

• The RPM is responsible for implementing standard processes and best practices to deliver non-clinical research objectives.

• The RPM will work closely with the discovery stage Research Project Leaders, Non-clinical Project Leaders, SMEs, and functional leaders to plan and advance concepts/assets from discovery Research stage through registration. There will be a close connection with key Research business partners such as Clinical Manufacturing & Control (CMC), Translational Sciences, Legal and Portfolio & Program Management (PPM) so that Research activities are in line with an overall strategic fit, incorporating overall company goals and perspectives.

• This position will report to the Research Project Management Lead.

Key Responsibilities

• Leverage strong project management and facilitation skills to optimize team meetings and drive effective governance interactions and decision making.

• Responsible for building cross-functional matrix relationships and navigating the organization to integrate various functions as a cohesive effort to drive projects and enhance team dynamics.

• Manage project timelines, ensuring timelines are aligned with functional activities across the organization (individual project plan, operational portfolio).

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of the drug discovery activities especially research and development experience for small molecules required.

• Solid understanding of drug development and commercialization.

• Project management foundation and relevant experience on matrix management, budget management, metrics, and leadership communication.

• Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information to a broad audience and demonstrated ability to interact directly and productively with team members and management and to manage and prioritize multiple competing priorities is also required.

• Ability to lead and engage in complex scientific discussions to develop/summarize clear follow-up/action plans and execute.

• Strong experience with building relationships, leading strategic initiatives, and programs, and collaborating across divisions with people of diverse business backgrounds and cultures.

• Highly organized and motivated individual with the ability to work independently/effectively with cross functional matrixed teams.

• Comfort with ambiguity, driving change and innovation across a matrix.

• Experience using Project Management software to manage complex program timelines and resources (MS Project, Smartsheet).

Preferred Qualifications

• Oncology background strongly recommended.

• PMP certification is a plus.

• An advanced degree (e.g., MS, PhD, MBA) preferred – if an advanced degree is held then at least 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical research and development is required.
