In addition, 42% of students achieved at least AAB in facilitating subjects, and fifteen students gained competitive places either to study at Oxford or Cambridge, or to read Dentistry or Medicine at university.

We are delighted that CHHS is regularly named as one of the UK’s top-performing schools in The Sunday Times annual Parent Power Surveys and this year, we were awarded ‘Northwest Comprehensive School of the Year 2024’. We are also extremely proud to have been selected as one of the first schools in England to become a lead Language Hub in the governments £15 million languages reboot. The aim of the network is to spread best practice in languages teaching to other schools and boost exam entries. The offer will give students aged 14-18 the opportunity to study German, Spanish and French through to Key Stage 5.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and well qualified teacher of Science. We are looking for an excellent classroom practitioner who is driven to raising achievement and promoting high expectations of our pupils. The successful candidate would be expected to teach a range of classes across KS3 & KS4.

While this role is initially offered as maternity cover, the opportunity for a permanent position may arise depending on the continued growth and future needs of the school, as the school has experienced significant and continuing growth over a number of years.

This post is suitable for ECTs and experienced teachers. The post is initially offered as a full 12-month contract. A physics specialism would be advantageous, however there is sufficient expertise and flexibility in the department to allow all specialisms to apply with equality of opportunity.

The current postholder will still be in post in January so there is an opportunity for a phased introduction into the timetable allowing ample time to plan and prepare and allow for a seamless handover with the current postholder and new Director of Learning for the science department.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and well qualified teacher to join our PE department. The successful candidate will be required to teach core PE at KS3 and KS4 across a range of sports with a particular emphasis on enhancing the school’s netball and girl’s football provision. The successful candidate will be expected and be well qualified to teach KS4 specialist courses at GCSE or the equivalent level in PE and will be able to support the facilitation of the school’s sport teams.

Cheadle Hulme High School (CHHS) is the founder school of the Laurus Trust. We are a hugely oversubscribed school with a reputation locally, and further afield, for outstanding teaching and learning through the relentless pursuit of excellence and a determination to ensure that every child succeeds. CHHS was judged Outstanding in every category by Ofsted in 2011 and 2015.

In the 2023 KS4 Progress 8 Headline measure, CHHS came in the top 5% of non-selective schools nationally. An incredible 35 students, over a quarter of the Class of 2023, received 3 or more A* and A grades, and of those, a magnificent eight have gained highly competitive places either to study at Oxford or Cambridge to read Medicine or Veterinary Science at university.

We are delighted that CHHS is regularly named as one of the UK’s top-performing schools in The Sunday Times annual Parent Power Surveys. We are also extremely proud to have been selected as one of the first schools in England to become a lead Language Hub in the governments £15 million languages reboot. The aim of the network is to spread best practice in languages teaching to other schools and boost exam entries.
