In this position, you will serve as an Intelligence Research Specialist, applying a full range of expert intelligence knowledge, skills, and abilities to provide insights that warn of potential threats and assessments on possible outcomes in regard to national security.

This position starts at a salary of $88,562.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $136,909.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $136,909.00 (GS-13 Step 10).

Major duties for this position include, but are not limited to:

• Serving as a senior level analyst in the Northeast Regional Intelligence Area of Responsibility.
• Developing or utilizing novel or revised program methods, strategies, producers and techniques for intelligence activities.
• Performing research and analysis to develop and publish intelligence products focusing on all threats in the Northeast Regional Intelligence Center Area of Responsibility.

• Serves as the Deputy Director for the Plans, Training and Modernization Directorate of Distribution Operations, DLA Distribution, Defense Logistics Agency.
• Responsible for the creation and governance of the short- and long-term execution plans as well as contingency planning.

• Implement data-assimilation methodologies into ITM models at the Community Coordinated Modeling Center (CCMC).

• Serve as a subject matter expert on neutral atmosphere-ionosphere coupling, effects of tides and gravity waves on the upper atmosphere ("space weather from below"), and orbital drag.

The Research Assistant III performs laboratory work in molecular testing of clinical and research samples; supports laboratory activities.

Work Interactions
 

Reporting to the Lab Manager, the Research Assistant III interacts with other technicians and supervisor within their assigned laboratory, as well as with other lab sections.
