Job Purpose

This is a role in SMBC’s Private Wealth Group and it includes supporting the establishment of credit and risk policies and responsibility for private wealth related credit products including structured lending (single stock financing), Lombard lending, mortgage lending and insurance related lending. Summary of the position:

This role is a key member of the HR team and reports directly to the Head of HR. The candidate should have proven end-to-end HR experience, ideally in Financial Services industry.

Main responsibilities:

The Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) for the Asia Pacific region is responsible for leading the underwriting function and development of Underwriting Strategies across Retail and Commercial segments to ensure profitable growth and Insurance Risk management across all lines of business across the region. This role is responsible for developing and implementing underwriting policies, guidelines, and standards while ensuring alignment with the company's overall strategic objectives.
