About the Role

Sugarman Health and Wellbeing are looking for a Support Worker within the Southend-on-Sea area who can support a Male service user in his early 30s who has Autism. Our Support Worker roles are considered more of a companionship role by building up key relationships and promoting independence through daily tasks for our service user within his own and especially within the community.

Activities will include going swimming twice a week at his local leisure Centre, attending art clubs, walks along the beach front, and exploring new areas outside the Southend-on-Sea area. Most importantly, suggesting new ideas and opportunities that serve the service users' best interests, by going above and beyond.

He has limited verbal communication and would only need prompts for personal care. You will then need to communicate with him effectively and appropriately, whilst also giving him the opportunity to communicate his needs as well.

As an Endoscopy Healthcare Assistant, you will:

• Provide and deliver a high standard of nursing, recognising and meeting the specific needs of patients.

• Maintain his/her own professional development, attending courses/further training to enhance and optimise his/her role within the work area.
