We are looking for someone who is passionate about Occupational Health and Staff Wellbeing Services in supporting the health and wellbeing of staff. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy Production team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH). As the Chief Technician - Pharmacy Production - Product Approver, you will be joining a team of hardworking and dedicated pharmacy professionals who compound cancer treatments for NUH patients.

You will be responsible for the final check and release of medicines manufactured, prepared or assembled in pharmacy production. You will also contribute to the leadership of the team of pharmacy technicians, science technicians and assistants to ensure patients receive their treatment in a timely and efficient way, ensure all required quality standards are met and drive continuous improvement throughout the team and department.

To be eligible for this post you must be a registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.

The Pharmacy Production department has of four manufacturing areas. The Sterile Production Unit (SPU), Non-Sterile Manufacturing Unit (NSM) and Pharmacy Packing Unit (PPU) are based at the MHRA licensed facility at the Queens Medical Centre (QMC) campus. The Cytotoxic Chemotherapy Production Unit (Cytolab) is located at the City Hospital Campus. The post holder will be required to work at both the Cytotoxic Chemotherapy Production Unit (Cytolab) and Sterile Production Unit depending on the service demands.

To assist in the provision, management and development of safe and efficient pharmacy production services at NUH.

This is a key leadership role within the Trust, and a core member of the corporate Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer’s (CNMO) team, supporting and enabling the CNMO to fulfil his/her responsibility for the professional leadership of AHP Practice across the Trust and their support staff.

The post holder will hold the delegated trust-wide portfolio of professional workforce standards, development and education on behalf of the CNMO, and will deputise as required for the CNMO on matters related to the professional (non-medical) workforce agenda. The post holder will hold trust wide responsibility for the professional workforce education and CPD standards and delivery, for AHP practice, thus contributing to the quality of patient care.

This is a key leadership role within the Trust, and a core member of the corporate Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer’s (CNMO) team, supporting and enabling the CNMO to fulfil his/her responsibility for the professional leadership of AHP Practice across the Trust and their support staff.

To fulfil these responsibilities the Deputy Chief AHP will have delegated responsibilities from the CNMO for leading, overseeing and supporting a safe and sustainable AHP Workforce Transformation Programme across the Trust working closely with the CNMO, Hospital Directors of Nursing and Head of Therapies.

The post holder will form key relationships with the other senior leaders in the Trust, particularly the Director of Nursing Professional Workforce and CPD to ensure alignment of the strategic and professional contributions of the non-medical professional workforce and effectively implementation of the wider Trust workforce strategies.
