A. OVERALL JOB DESCRIPTION- SERVICE REQUIREMENTS
1. To provide clinical and administrative support to the Dental Officer to enable
maintenance of the surgery. This includes preparation/sterilisation of all instruments before
and after patients, reception duties, document handling, operation of dental computing
system, processing radiographs, shared maintenance tasks and working in the central

2. To be fully aware of the responsibilities of a registered healthcare professional and
comply with the GDC Principles and Standards for Dental Professionals.
3. To ensure that not less than 6.5 hours per day in 2 sessions are set aside for
appointed patients

5. To comply with DPHC (Dental) policy on working hours.

7. To carry out preventive cross infection procedures including sterilisation of

Dental Practitioner.
13. To ensure that surgery management, document administration (including the

14. To ensure compliance with Radiation Safety Orders and adhere to current Control of

16. Must hold valid suitable and appropriate indemnity insurance with a recognised

Maintaining an awareness of current and forthcoming H&S legislation, you'll audit our compliance against this with regular inspections and spot checks, and alert appropriate managers of the remedial actions required to keep abreast of our responsibilities. This will include training staff and senior management to support compliance in their areas.
As the Fire Safety Coordinator for Oxfordshire, you'll also monitor and advise on fire evacuation exercises and support the management of Evacuation Wardens for your regional colleges.
This is a permanent, full-time role and travel will be required between our campus locations across Oxfordshire. Some support at our other colleges may occasionally be needed.
What do you need to be successful as a Health and Safety Officer at Activate Learning?
Applicants for this role must have the following qualifications or equivalent:
Level 3 NEBOSH Certificate
TechIOSH grade of a H&S professional body
Alongside these you must have relevant experience from the sector, of H&S training and of achieving performance targets against deadlines.

To provide high quality and appropriate routine and emergency oral healthcare to patients. Provision of dental care for special care children and adults including those who are medically compromised. Undertake training as required by the Trusts and as needed to maintain standards of clinical practice. Take part in all aspects of clinical governance, including GDC lifelong learning, clinical audit, peer review and clinical supervision. Maintain close working relationships with other disciplines as related to these duties. Undertake responsibility for a given area of clinical practice including the coordination and management duties involved in that particular area.
