Working within the wider HUC unscheduled care division and with local healthcare providers, the Advanced Nurse Practitioner will complete the assessment and treatment of patients at a Nurse led Integrated Urgent Care Hub (IUCH), who may present with acute and/or chronic illnesses and/or injury; in order to determine a clinical diagnosis, treatment and appropriate discharge. Successful applicants will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, including remote GPs, other ANPs/ENPs/ECPs (Urgent Care Practitioners) and operational staff. All staff are expected to contribute to meeting Key Performance Indicators mandated by the service within the time frames identified. Job Title: Disability Assessor (Nurse Assessor) - Barnsley, UK  

Location: Barnsley

Contract Type: Permanent  

Starting salary £36,000 - £37,500 (OTE £38,480 - £43,450, role dependent)

This is based on a minimum of 3 days in the office

About You:   Become a Clinical Assessor (Nurse Assessor) with Medacs Healthcare and use your clinical knowledge and expertise in a new and rewarding hybrid role based out of Barnsley.

As an experienced registered Nurse Assessor, you will use your clinical skills to assess, discuss, and create detailed reports on how their conditions impact daily living by conducting face to face and telephone assessments.   

 Key Responsibilities:

• Typing proficiency and IT system navigation skills.

Essential Qualifications:  

• Current and unrestricted NMC registration. 
• Nurse Assessor. Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Mental Health Nurse, (RMN) or Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD) Registered Nurse (RN, RMN, RNLD)
• We also welcome applications from HCPC Registered Paramedics, Physiotherapists, and Occupational Therapists. 
• A minimum of 1- year post-registration UK experience. (NHS or private healthcare providers)

The Respiratory Department has recently successfully expanded its service model across the hospital and community setting of Barnsley which has presented an opportunity to expand its consultant workforce. This post is required to develop and expand the existing and new respiratory services. We need to be able to proactively support daily consultant ward round in the respiratory ward to assist with rapid assessment and management of inpatients. We also have a designated 8 bed Respiratory Care Unit, which has its own dedicated nursing team and Junior doctor support. In addition, increases in our outpatient clinic capacity are required to meet the increasing activity demands. There are also great opportunities to develop your own subspecialty interests and service improvements. The main duties and responsibilities of the Speciality Doctor are set out below. To contribute to the lung cancer multi-disciplinary team and achieving the two week wait for general practitioner referrals; To liaise with Social Services Departments, General Practitioners and Voluntary organisations as required. To advise clinical colleagues on matters within his/her sphere of expertise; To offer advice to medical, nursing, managerial and other staff on appropriate matters; To carry out medical teaching, examination and accreditation duties as required; To contribute to postgraduate and continuing medical education activity including Continuing Professional Development and Research; To contribute if appropriate to the training of nurses, paramedical, scientific and technical staff; To participate in medical audit on a regular basis including presentations and further development. To provide information required from time to time for legitimate management purposes; To contribute to the management process within the Trust through participation in planning, project or liaison groups as appropriate; To work in conjunction with the Clinical Lead, Deputy Clinical Director and Clinical Director, Associate Director of Operations for Medicine, Associate Director of Nursing for Medicine, Service Manager and Matron whose roles form part of the management arrangements of BHNFT; To work within the framework of policies and procedures relevant to Medical and Dental staff. The duties are subject to review from time to time in the light of the changing requirements of the service. The duties will be reflected in a job plan, which will be subject to review with the appointed consultant.
